(G)I-DLE Shuhua Stuns Neverlands With Huge Hair Transformation for 'Nxde'

Back on October 17, (G)I-DLE made a successful comeback with their newest mini album "I Love," featuring its lead single "Nxde." Not long after the lead single's release, "Nxde" easily rose to the top of music charts in South Korea and entered international music charts as well.

"Nxde" had captivated fans for not only their catchy beats, women empowering lyrics, but of course, for the beautiful aesthetics the (G)I-DLE members treated fans to.

In particular, Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Yuqi, and Shuhua all came out with a bang this comeback by sporting blonde hair at the same time.

According to the group, this comeback was heavily inspired by American Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe, who is known for being an inspiration to the idea of "confidently sexy" and "more than meets the eye."

While the (G)I-DLE members were already known and used to bleaching and dyeing their hair, especially in light colors, member Shuhua's huge transformation came as a surprise to Neverlands ((G)I-DLE's fandom).

This is because it is well-known that Shuhua has a strong dislike for bleached hair, and has continuously rejected the idea of her dyeing hair her in any shade at all since her debut. As it is common for K-pop idols to always dye their hair, Shuhua is one of the rare idols who have kept their natural hair color.

Unsurprisingly, after her huge transformation of turning blonde, Shuhua was showered with praise for her beautiful appearance, as well as for matching the group's comeback concept.

Shuhua Reveals Reason She Decided to Finally Dye Her Hair

But what made her change her mind to finally bleach and dye her hair? In an interview with Grammy shared on October 26, the (G)I-DLE member explained what became the reason for her finally relenting to dye her hair.

Grammy said, "Shuhua going blonde was a big move, and even the members thought that it wouldn't happen. As artists and as a group, how do you feel about getting out of your comfort zone to reach a greater goal? And how do you decide 'this is something that I won't do'?"

To this, Shuhua shared that she was simply ready to make a change in her appearance years after making her debut. The idol said, "I just decided OK."

But of course, the biggest reason as to why she made the change was due to her fans, Neverlands, as she wanted to show them a new image. "It's time to show fans our new appearance and it really suits that concept, so that's why I decided to go blonde," Shuhua continued.

Meanwhile, her fellow member Minnie even cried due to her being so touched by Shuhua's decision to dye her hair for promotions.
