Staff Reveals BI True Personality– Why Did It Receive Sour Reactions?

"But I was shocked to learn how **** he is." In a web show, staff working with B.I revealed the true personality of the idol. But why is it gaining mixed reactions?

Here's what happened.

Choreographer Reveals First Impression vs Real Attitude of B.I After Working With Idol

On October 29, B.I's YouTube channel uploaded Episode 2 of his mini web show, "Is this really necessary?"

On this day, B.I went camping with two choreographers who had been working together with him for a long time and enjoyed a barbecue party.

The three, who were having a good time playing various games, suddenly had a sincere interview with the production team.

In particular, when asked about their first meeting, one choreographer revealed his first impression to Kim Hanbin and said:

"I wouldn't say cold-hearted, but perhaps impolite?"

However, this first impression didn't last long as the staff continued that after working with B.I longer, his perception to him changed, saying:

"But I was really shocked to learn just how well-mannered and respectful he is.

I've never seen someone do work this passionately, so the more I met him, the more I felt that 'This guy (B.I) will go places.' I was also looking forward and excited to meet him even before because my mother was a huge fan."

B.I Accused of Trying To Make His Best Image

However, after the broadcast, Koreans criticized the singer for allegedly trying to make his best image through the staff working with him.

On November 2, Sports Chosun explained why the public opinion isn't happy with the video.

"It is natural for the staff working with him in self-produced content to praise the personality of the main artist, but the problem is that public opinion about B.I is not good yet and related trials are underway."

While there are people who attested to Hanbin's good-natured personality, some just can't scrap the image he created after being involved in an illegal drug purchase and use in 2019.

At that time, B.I was the leader of the "rookie monster" iKON and just established their position in the K-pop scene, but this allegation made him withdraw from the group and temporary hiatus in the music industry.

Initially, he denied the charge of taking drugs, but later on, admitted to all charges of illegal drug use. Due to this, he was sentenced to three years in prison, probation for four years, 90 hours of community service, 40 hours of drug treatment lectures as well as 1.5 million won fines.

But since then, he released a new album as a soloist about six months before the first trial ruling was announced and continued with his idol activities amid probation, which caused him to gain more criticism.

The public opinion were stating that B.I is not reflecting at all and is not showing any remorse.

Yang Hyun Suk, the former CEO of YG Entertainment, had to step down as the controversy remains.

It is pointed out that the person who discovered him is on trial for trying to cover up his drug case, and B.I is too irresponsible to make an image of "having a good personality."

On the other hand, B.I was selected as a regular MC for Channel S and Wavve's 'WET! : World EDM Trend', which will premiere on November 30th.
