(G)I-DLE Miyeon Called Out For 'Acting Cute' While Drinking Water

On November 2, a pann user took to the Korean online community to express their dislike to Miyeon, who, according to them, is pretending to be cute.

The post, titled "Why does she drink water like this?", contains screen captures from dispatch Korea's YouTube short, wherein the (G)I-DLE member was seen drinking bottled water.

In the photos and the video, the "Drive" singer carefully puts the bottle in her mouth and sipped a little amount of water.

Later on, she stored the water in both of her cheeks, looking like a cute hamster.

Just then the author of the post called out this act of the female singer, saying:

"Does she think she's a hamster or what? I really hate female idols who pretend or act cute."

As of November 4, the post amassed more than 180,000 views and 72 upvotes and rose atop Pann's most popular articles.

Neverlands Defend (G)I-DLE Miyeon

As the post went viral on the online community, a lot of K-pop fans especially Neverlands, (G)I-DLE's fandom, defended the idol and criticized the OP for bringing back a clip posted on September 21.

Miyeon's fans can't help but ask the original poster what part of the clip the female star acted cute when she was simply drinking water slowly to prevent her makeup from smudging.

"Why the hell is that uncomfortable for you?"

"It's funny that the people who don't like Miyeon say they hate her because she knows she's pretty. There's no way that she won't realize she's beautiful in front of the mirror. Do you like her to say, 'I don't think I'm pretty' in front of the camera?

If she said that, bet you're going to hate her for acting like a pick-me girl but if she says she knows that she's pretty, she'd get hate for having a 'princess disease' and be conceited. What do you want her to do? Just pick one."

Others then brought up how IVE Jang Wonyoung was previously hated for eating strawberries using her two hands.

"I can't believe that people are full of s**t."

"She's not even pretending to be a hamster, she's a real hamster."

"I do that, too. Now, how the hell should I drink water?"

"Is it that bad to drink water like that? Fans are calling her princess because she's naturally elegant and pretty."

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE dropped their new album, "I love," on October 17 along with its title track, "Nxde."

According to its agency Cube Entertainment, the number of views on YouTube for (G)I-DLE's "Nxde" MV exceeded 100 million as of November 4. Among the group's music videos, it's the fastest to reach the milestone.
