BTS Makes History After Earning Multiple Nominations for 2023 GRAMMYs

BTS has successfully secured nominations for the 2023 Grammy Awards, and at the same time, the septet made history!

BTS 2023 GRAMMYs Nominations: Group Gets Nominated in 3 Categories

On Nov. 15 local time, the Recording Academy officially revealed the nominees for next year's Grammy Awards. One of the artists named is South Korean boy group BTS.

For the third consecutive year, BTS has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. Their collaboration song, "My Universe," with British rock band Coldplay is running for the award.

The first time the septet was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance was in 2021 for their English hit "Dynamite" in 2021. Then, their second time was in 2022 for their other English song "Butter."

Other nominees for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance are ABBA's "Don't Shut Me Down," Post Malone and Doja Cat's "I Like You (A Happier Song)," Camila Cabello's "Bam Bam" (featuring Ed Sheerab)," and Sam Smith and Kim Petras' "Unholy."

Moreover, BTS earned a nomination for Best Music Video at the 2023 GRAMMYs. The music video for their latest comeback song "Yet to Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)" is going up against Adele's "Easy On Me," Taylor Swift's "All Too Well: The Short Film," Doja Cat's "Woman," Harry Styles' "As It Was," and Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 5."

Notably, BTS's "Yet to Come" is the first Korean-language song to be nominated in GRAMMYs history and makes the group the Korean artist with the most nominations as well.

Furthermore, BTS is among the many artists credited in Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres," which is nominated for "Album of the Year." All those credited in a nominated work will receive a GRAMMY.

This only means that BTS achieved three nominations for the 2023 GRAMMYs: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Music Video, and Album of the Year. For the first time in Grammys history, a Korean artist got nominated in three categories in a single year.

Aside from Coldplay's "Music of the Spheres," the other nominees for Album of the Year are ABBA's "Voyage," Adele's "30," Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti," Beyoncé's "Renaissance," Mary J. Bilge's "Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe)," Brandi Carlile's "In These Silent Days," Kendrick Lamar's :Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers," Lizzo's "Special," and Harry Styles' "Harry's House."

Meanwhile, the 2023 GRAMMYs will air live on Feb. 5, 2023 local time.

BTS Drops Official Dance Practice for "Run BTS"

In other news, BTS recently surprised ARMYs by releasing a video of the official dance practice for "Run BTS," a fan-favorite B-side song from their anthology album "Proof." The track was first performed live at the group's World Expo 2023 Busan Korea concert in October.

The newly released dance practice video presents a full view of the seven members' powerful dance moves from start to finish, as well as the amazing formations they make together with the backup dancers.
