Lyricist Kim Eana Expresses Longing For Late SHINee Jonghyun: 'It's that time again'

Five years have passed since Kim Jonghyun left the physical world, but lyricist Kim Eana continues to honor the late idol. Recently, she conveyed her longing feelings for him through a heartfelt letter.

Lyricist Kim Eana Writes Lengthy Post About SHINee Jonghyun

On November 18, exactly a month before SHINee Jonghyun's death anniversary, South Korean lyricist Kim Eana wrote an Instagram post, remembering the idol's past work.

In the post, Eana, who worked with Jonghyun several times under SM Entertainment, uploaded three live videos of the male idol, wherein he showcased his solo vocal power and where he was performing with his group.

The following is the full text of Kim Eana's Instagram post:

"I tend to bring up Jonghyun's story well on the broadcast without hesitation, but I think, 'It's that time again' because I have been getting a lump in my throat (getting choked up) since a few weeks ago.

The time... when I miss Jonghyun deeply and suddenly. Today, I almost had a vocal distortion because I choked up again while listening to [Lee Hi's] "Breathe" at a radio station.

At times like this, let's lay a straw mat and enjoy the longing (for Jonghyun) together with people who suffer from the same symptoms, who make arrangements for times like this!

1. All-time legendary live video by my standards. For someone who officially became a fan of 'Y Si Fuera Ella' earnestly, I don't know how many times I've watched this live video which was filmed at the peak of emotions.

The camera misses and shakes Jonghyun's movement, perhaps because of the intense emotion. It must have been a completely different move from the rehearsal. It's sad to think that he was a friend who put too much of his heart (into things or performances), my heart aches, but still, everyone needs to watch this video more.

2. I saw this stage ("Aside") through a live stream. It was a performance before the title song, but I think there's something wrong with the microphone, so you can see him going through the in-ear monitor and putting it back on. Since he wore it weirdly, he resembles Piccolo (from Dragon Balls) and it's so funny.

However, he still sang the intro perfectly; indeed, the perfect introduction is that SHINee's stage became a legendary performance when there was a small accident. All the precious members are so fresh and young.

3. The unforgettable performance I saw right in front of us. Most of the singers said that the 'Sugar Man' stage is especially close to the audience and that it is very burdensome because the cast is sitting in the first row, but our lovely attention seeker (positively) (Kwan)Jonghyun is showing off his talents even more in this situation.

When "Only The World 'I Love You" comes as a song request (on the radio Kim Eana's hosting) I still play it a lot in Jonghyun's version and think of this day. It's personally very meaningful because this video contains me in awe.

There are emotions that float like hot air balloons because you don't want to face them. That was the feeling of the night when Jonghyun left. Those emotions are not easily organized and have a long tail (have been going on for a long time).

However, I don't think it's bad to let this emotion float a little more. Anyway, I'm sure there are people who know what this is.

It's hard to count how many cycles (death anniversary) it is. The time related to Jonghyun feels like staying in a vacuum state.

During auctions and exhibits, SM Entertainment artists BoA, aespa and more donate their precious items to support young musicians financially through scholarships.

Even if the Poet|artist is gone physically, he continues to be an angel to many by donating his songs' copyright fees to fund the organization.
