BTOB Sungjae Tweets for the First Time After Long Inactivity Due to Sasaeng

While Yook Sungjae regularly posts on his personal Instagram account, he isn't active on his Twitter account. Hence, his return to the latter platform came as a big surprise. However, the reason for his first tweet after a long time is also something no one saw coming.

On Nov. 21, the male idol was seen commenting under a now-deleted Twitter post, ending his hiatus of more than a year on the platform. His last tweet dates back in March 2021.

His comment reads: "Excuse me, you're going to get reported (for) doing that." So, what was in the post that made him leave a comment like that?

Well, the post was made by a Twitter account with the handle @ou_selly and said that BTOB Sungjae's phone number is for sale, as well as the cell phone number of his co-members.

In the K-pop community, many fans are aware that the Individuals who sell personal information of idols are none other than sasaengs. Given this, @ou_selly could be one of them.

A sasaeng is defined as an "obsessive" fan who will go to any extreme to get closer to their favorite stars. They stalk or engage in behaviors constituting an invasion of the celebrities' privacy. They may even cause harm and injury at times. In fact, there were reports of idols getting into a minor car accident, including BTS, GOT7 Jackson, and Super Junior Heechul, to name a few.

In a YouTube video, Korean rapper and YouTuber Grace Kim shared that sasaengs will often work at telephone companies, at credit card companies, and internal portal sites so they could access the personal details of celebrities.

Going back to BTOB Sungjae's encounter with the sasaeng, it's not clear how the male idol saw the tweets created by @ou_selly, but he didn't hold back in calling them out over their posts.

Fortunately, it appears like the call-out worked, as the tweet attempting to sell his phone number was removed for violating Twitter's rules.

Soon after, BTOB's fans, collectively called Melody, joined forces to report the Twitter account of the sasaeng, leading to its suspension from Twitter.

While BTOB Sungjae returned to Twitter recently because of the fan trying to sell his personal information, it remains to be seen whether the idol will continue to be active on the social media platform. But, Melody was truly happy to see him back.

BTOB Sungjae's Recent Activities

Meanwhile, BTOB Sungjae is currently starring in the television series "The Golden Spoon," where he plays the male lead character named Lee Seung Cheon.

Regarding his musical activities, Sungjae participated in BTOB's full-group comeback this past February with their third studio album "Be Together." The album features the title track "The Song" (composed by member Hyunsik) and 12 other new songs.

With "Be Together," BTOB set a new personal record for first-week sales on the Hanteo Chart. The album sold a total of 113,430 copies, surpassing their four-year record of 91,207 copies set by their 2018 special album "HOUR MOMENT."

Moreover, "The Song" earned the group two music show wins, one each on "Show Champion" and "M Countdown."

BTOB is scheduled to hold a three-day concert called "Be Together" from Dec. 30, 2022 to Jan. 1, 2023 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut.
