DKZ Fandom Demands Re-Verification After Being Accused of Fraudulent Votes For 'AAA'

Amid DKZ's growing popularity, their fandom faces criticism after being suspected of fraudulent voting for "2022 AAA."

In response, its fandom Dong-ari demanded re-verification and clarification of why they were accused of voting manipulation.

2022 AAA Suspects DKZ Fandom of Having Fraudulent Votes – Final Results Reversed

On November 22, the 2022 "Asian Artists Awards" (2022 AAA) released an article together with its partner voting platform, Idol Plus, to announce the changes in the number of votes for AAA "Idolplus Popularity Award."

In the official statement, Idol Plus x AAA said:

"Hello, this is Idolplus service center.

We found some abnormal votes for the 2022 AAA idolplus Popularity Award voting results. So we would like to inform you that fraudulent votes have been excluded after the overall revalidation."

They also apologized for the delayed results and promised to create a more fair voting culture.

Since then, the number of votes suspected of fraudulent voting has been adjusted, and the actor category has been changed from DKZ Jaechan to Kim Sunho.

Initially, Jaechan sat atop with more than 900k votes, but after the adjustment, it was decreased to about 400k, excluding more than 500k from the final votes.

DKZ Fandom Denies Allegation – Provides Proof of Legal Voting Process

Amid the reversal of the final voting results for the "AAA Awards" popularity award, the fandom of DKZ supporting Jaechan revealed their position.

"We are currently aware of the adjustment in the voting results of the AAA Idol Plus Popularity Award, and we will ask the organizers for clear verification standards as soon as we receive an answer.

We attest to you that we have never used illegal methods such as macro voting in all voting."

In particular, the fans were accused by Idol Plus of using voting bots and engaging in macro voting, but fans countered this claim by showing statistics that the votes were earned legally.

Jaechan's Chinese union also revealed proof of their consistent voting, which is one of the biggest contributors to the idol's number of votes.

Together with Korean fans, international fans demand AAA and idol plus to release a detailed explanation of the sudden adjustment ahead of the result announcement, as well as clear and comprehensive criteria for deducting a large number of votes.

The fandom also requested re-verification of the results, attesting that their fandom never used any illegal way to vote.

After seeing this news, people conveyed mixed reactions such as:

  • "Korean fans seem to have voted normally."
  • "Isn't it a problem from international fans?"
  • "We will wait for a more accurate position."

Meanwhile, since 2016, AAA has had a bad reputation for unreasonably deducting votes, accusing the fandom of engaging in fraudulent voting; thus, the adjustment.

At that time, SNSD Yoona's fandom, SONEs, complained about AAA accusing them of voting illegally even when they are following right process of voting.
