Melon Music Awards 2022: Red Carpet + Special Performances to Expect

On Nov. 25, Korean media outlets, such as MBC Entertainment, reported that Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2022 will broadcast the red carpet event live exclusively via the Wavve app from 5:00 p.m. KST prior to the full-scale awards ceremony.

It was also reported that special stages, which have not been seen before, will be presented.

One of the Melon Music Awards 2022 performers is (G)I-DLE, who solidified their position as one of the leading fourth-generation K-pop girl groups with their latest hit songs, "TOMBOY" and "Nxde."

As per news outlets, (G)I-DLE will not only show group stages, as members Soyeon and Shuhua are preparing for solo rap and solo dance performances, respectively.

Starship Entertainment's new girl group, IVE, who will attend the awards ceremony for the first time, is said to deliver a splendid performance through their hit songs, such as "ELEVEN," "LOVE DIVE," and "After LIKE."

Another rookie girl group that's part of the MMA 2022 lineup is LE SSERAFIM, and according to reports, the quintet will perform a large-scale performance that includes Kazuha's solo stage and what seems to be a runway show.

ADOR's first idol group, NewJeans, also joined the list of Melon Music Awards 2022 performers. The "Hype Boy" hitmakers are said to present a hip-hop style performance at the event.

Finally, Korean media outlets reported that trot singer Lim Young Woong will give a live performance of his new songs "Polaroid" and "London Boy" for the first time.

Melon Music Awards 2022: Booths and Events for Fans at the Venue

Since the MMA will return as an offline event after three years, fans are allowed to watch the awards ceremony in person.

At the venue, which is Gocheok Sky Dome, various outdoor booths are set up in order for the fans to not get bored while waiting for the main show to begin. There are welcome messages written by the attending artists, an area for Melon's data lab that discloses data gathered by the platform throughout the year, and a photo zone.

There's also a lucky draw event and a "Green Etiquette" event that offers eco-friendly goods. Fans can also find a "Goods Sharing" zone where they can exchange and share goods of their favorite artists with each other.

Additionally, there's a coffee truck from Kakao webtoon "If You Don't Debut, You'll Die," and welcome gifts are provided to Melon paying members.
