BTS Jin's Solo Songs to Listen to When You Miss Him Amid His Military Service

There's only a few weeks left before BTS Jin enlists in the military. After receiving a five-week basic training at the recruit training center in Yeoncheon County of Gyeonggi Province, he will serve as an active-duty soldier in the front line unit.

Since the male idol will serve in the military for more than a year, ARMYs will surely miss him, so here's a list of BTS Jin's other solo songs aside from "The Astronaut" that you can listen to when you miss him.

Jin's Awake

Released back in October 2016, "Awake" is Jin's first-ever solo track. It is included in BTS's 2016 studio album "Wings." In an interview with GQ Australia, the singer shared that he reached a turning point while writing the song. He said at that time, "My first solo track 'Awake' was the first time I felt the desire to attempt something new as a musician."

"Awake" is a beautiful piano ballad that contains lyrics about not believing that you can succeed in a way that you want to, but you're still determined to do it anyway. Listen here.

Jin's "Epiphany"

Arguably one of the most famous solo songs by Jin, "Epiphany" was released in August 2018 and speaks to the concept of BTS's "Love Yourself" series. It is about celebrating and honoring oneself. Through the lyrics, the idol declares, "I'm the one I should love in this world... I'm the one I should love," which undoubtedly helped millions of listeners in their process to self-love. Jin's "Tonight"

Jin's "Tonight" arrived in 2019 as part of BTS's sixth-anniversary celebrations. Jin worked on this song with his fellow member RM and longtime BTS collaborators Slow Rabbit and Hiss Noise. An acoustic R&B-pop track, "Tonight" spotlights Jin's airy falsetto over production that changes from sparse guitar to emotionally bright combination of synthesizers and piano. Listen here.

Jin's "Abyss"

Jin released this moving, personal ballad, "Abyss," in 2020 in celebration of his 28th-birthday. At that time, he also posted a handwritten letter to ARMYs. In that letter, he confessed that he experienced a "huge burnout" and wondered if he deserved all the praises he's receiving when BTS ranked No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100. He then said that "Abyss" contains the messages that he wanted to say and conveys all of his feelings, such as anxiety, insecurities, and burnout. Listen here.

Jin's "Moon"

Off BTS's "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," "Moon" is Jin's solo song that highlights his love for pop and rock. It has become a representative song for BTS and ARMY, as Jin thinks of himself as the moon and the fans as the Earth- both of which will be incomplete when one is missing, as the moon lovingly rotates and watches over the Earth, whose landscapes are illuminated by the moon. Jin's "Yours"

Dropped in 2021, Jin's "Yours" served as the main theme song for the Korean drama "Jirisan." It helped the TV show debut to the highest-rated series premiere for Korea's cable channel tvN. Through this track, Jin once again showcased his ability to tell stories, singing, "Every night, I see you in my heart/ Every time I do, I end up crying." Listen here.

Jin's "Super Tuna"

Another recent solo song by Jin, "Super Tuna" was released to commemorate his birthday in 2021. It is a trot song that originated from his love for fishing.
