Will BIGBANG Join Weverse? T.O.P Responds to Report

On November 29, BIGBANG T.O.P posted an update about his current whereabouts after leaving YG Entertainment on his Instagram Story.

Through the SNS, the idol-turned-businessman was seen in a wine-tasting event and shared photos of the various bottle of wine in front of him he had tried tasting. T.O.P enjoyed the aroma in the event hall while drinking a variety of wines created 15 to 60 years ago.

On the same day, T.O.P also decided to reply to a fan's comment in his recent IG post, asking him about the news that BIGBANG will join Weverse, an application created by HYBE Entertainment used for artist-fandom communication.

YG Entertainment artists, such as BLACKPINK, iKON and TREASURE, also entered the platform after signing a partnership with HYBE concerning music distribution and merchandising business.

The fan wrote:

"Oppa, will you come to Weverse?"

BIGBANG T.O.P directly responded:

"Nope, I'm not going in."

Fans were a little bit sad, but they understand that T.O.P is not under YG Entertainment anymore, so he isn't required to join the platform if his group does.

Following BLACKPINK, "Kings of K-pop" BIGBANG became the next YG artist to open the Weverse fan community. On November 28, the official SNS of the global fandom platform Weverse said:

"BIGBANG's official fan community for V.I.P.s around the world has opened on Weverse."

According to the posted announcement, the platform can be used by V.I.Ps around the world to talk about BIGBANG and share group-related content with other fans.

In Weverse, a group with various members usually has individual accounts to post and interact with fans.

However, BIGBANG doesn't have any.

Due to this, it is still a question if the members including G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung will not use Weverse as well just like T.O.P.

Apparently, the platform will either be used to easily update fans about BIGBANG's possible activities and future merchandise.

BIGBANG debuted in 2006 and rose into stardom after various hits, such as "LOSER," "FXXK IT, " BANG BANG BANG" and more.

After some controversy in 2017, T.O.P initially hinted at his departure from the group, but he did a group activity even after leaving YG Entertainment through BIGBANG's digital single, "Still Life," released in April 2022.

He left the agency in February, but he attested fans he would continue working with BIGBANG depending on his schedule and terms. He is currently working as a wine businessman.
