Where Is Former SMROOKIES Kim Suhye? Trainee's Status After Leaving SM Entertainment

SMROOKIES is known to be SM Entertainment's pre-debut team of trainees. Many current SM artists, including members of Red Velvet, NCT, and aespa, all used to be part of this team. However, while many of them had debuted, some of them had left the group and SM Entertainment- one of them was Kim Suhye.

Who Is Former SMROOKIES Kim Suhye?

Kim Suhye was born on Dec. 13, 2004 in Namdong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. She currently attends Hanlim Performing Arts High School and is a vocal student at IB Music Academy, where her trainer is Jayoung, a member of the rock girl group Rolling Quartz.

She used to be a trainee under SM Entertainment, but it's unknown when she started training at the company. It is also uncertain when she parted ways with SM.

After her departure, she joined PocketDol Studio as a trainee in 2021. PocketDol Studio currently houses South Korean boy group BAE173.

While she was under PocketDol Studio, former SMROOKIES Kim Suhye competed in the reality show "My Teenage Girl," which formed the rookie girl group CLASS:y. Unfortunately, she was eliminated in episode 8, which aired on Jan. 16, 2022, as she had earned the least amount of votes in her alliance.

It is believed that she left PocketDol Studio following her elimination from "My Teenage Girl."

Where Is Former SMROOKIES Kim Suhye? Trainee's Status After Leaving SM Entertainment

Former SMROOKIES Kim Suhye is currently a trainee under 143 Entertainment and is part of the agency's upcoming girl group, LIMELIGHT. 143 Entertainment is the management agency of Kep1er members Mashiro and Yeseo, and it is expected that these two will join LIMELIGHT following the conclusion of Kep1er's group activities.

On April 15, it was reported that Suhye joined 143 Entertainment. Then, on Aug. 12, she was officially introduced as a member of LIMELIGHT, which aims to be a girl group with no limit on members, making them seem like NCT's female version.

LIMELIGHT is said to make their debut in January 2023. Currently, the revealed members are MiU, Suhye, and Gaeun. Suhye is projected to be part of the group's vocal line as she possesses a clear and clean voice, which she showed off during her participation in "My Teenage Girl."

On Sept. 29, the forthcoming girl group dropped their self-titled pre-debut album to mark the start of their pre-debut activities. There are a total of six songs in the album, including "Starlight" and "Eye to Eye" that were initially revealed through music videos on Sept. 27 and 28, respectively.

Also, on Sept. 29, the trio made their debut stage on Mnet's "M Countdown" with "Starlight."

Aside from releasing a pre-debut album, LIMELIGHT members MiU, Suhye, and Gaeun also premiered their reality show "Lululala" on Aug. 18. The program captures the process of their debut. The episodes are released through their YouTube channel. To date, there are seven episodes plus the prank compilation on the channel, along with behind-the-scenes clips, special videos, and more.

LIMELIGHT also has other social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. Former SMROOKIES Kim Suhye also has her personal Instagram account that you can follow.
