TWICE's 'The Feels' Earns RIAA Gold Certification

TWICE's English-language single "The Feels" has received a U.S. Gold Certification from RIAA for the first time.

The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) awarded the song for having sold 500,000 units. Its certification was granted on November 30, marking TWICE's first song to receive certification from the association.

To achieve gold from RIAA, the certification requires 500,000 units to be sold. Certifications do matter since they show the sales status of an album or single, while boosting its position on music charts.

With releases out in the open, it usually follows a snowball effect of exposure that can lead to more sales.

In this case, TWICE's English single has sold half a million copies or more, earning them RIAA's U.S. Gold Certification.

TWICE's 'The Feels' Surpasses 100 Million Streams, Earning RIAJ's Platinum Certification

On a previous note, "The Feels" also set the current record for having the fastest song to achieve a platinum certification from RIAJ, also known as the Recording Industry Association of Japan.

The criteria for their achievement showcases "The Feels" earned platinum for exceeding 100 million streams since its October release in 2021.

RIAJ's platinum certification for 'The Feels' also adds to TWICE's achievements, making them the girl group with the most number of platinum certifications. 'The Feels' is considered as their 4th song to receive platinum in RIAJ, following TWICE hits "Feel Special," "I CAN'T STOP ME" and "FANCY."

"The Feels" is an all-English single from TWICE, featuring an upbeat and optimistic vibe that expresses TWICE's music color. The members stated that they hope the single will be a gift for their international fans and aim for the foreign market with their songs. They are even acknowledged as "K-pop's representative girl group" by Forbes and MTV.

Their popularity within U.S. is indeed increasing due to their releases, specifically when "Taste Of Love" was released on June 11. While being locally prominent in South Korea's roots, TWICE's only way for forward will be upwards, ever since making the decision to expand around the world and meet their international fans.
