Super Junior's 'The Road: Celebration' Concept Photos Receive Bad Responses— Here's Why

Super Junior's concept photos for their upcoming 11th studio album "The Road: Celebration" have become a hot topic online for bad reasons. Many believe SM Entertainment went for a cost-effective photo shoot this time.

Super Junior's 'The Road: Celebration' Concept Photos Receive Bad Responses- Here's Why

On Dec. 7, Super Junior revealed another set of teaser photos featuring each member for their comeback with "The Road: Celebration."

Not long after, the pictures were reposted on the online community The Qoo by a netizen, and the post has been garnering a lot of attention, with over 89,000 views and 700 comments.

However, most of the comments aren't good with many netizens criticizing the quality of Super Junior's concept photos. Some commented that the images are a bit blurry and that they seem like they were just taken by their managers or were captured using only a phone and not with a professional-grade camera.

But what caught the netizens' attention the most is the cart on set. One netizen pointed out that the cart in Leeteuk's and Ryeowook's images is covered with only colored papers.

"If you look closely at Leeteuk's and Ryeowook's pictures, you can clearly tell that they used paper to cover the cart," the netizen said.

In particular, in Leeteuk's concept photo, the bottom edge of the brown paper used to cover the body of the cart is sticking out, which makes it obvious. And it is apparent that the papers were just pasted side by side, as there's a line visible in the middle and it seems like it was not glued well.

The lines of the papers are also clearly seen in Ryeowook's concept photo since there are parts creating small gaps.

Moreover, one netizen questioned the location where Heechul's concept photo was taken since he's the only one with a different background. "Is Kim Heechul just standing on the 'Radio Star' stage?" the netizen asked.

Because of the "low quality" of Super Junior's concept photos for "The Road: Celebration," many speculate that SM Entertainment didn't spend much money on the production and chose to have a cost-effective pictorial instead.

Since "The Road: Celebration" is a full album and not just a special album, netizens are expressing their disappointment with how the teaser photos turned out and saying that the set and pictures would've looked prettier if the company put more effort into it.

Some of netizens' reactions are as follows:

"If you're not going to use the real props, can you at least not make it this obvious???"

"If you want to have a cost-effective production, at least try to shoot them prettily. This is so insincere."

"It's my first time seeing SM's quality drop this low."

"Looks like they didn't spend money, it's not the photographer's fault."

"They look like the behind-the-scenes photos posted by the company on the blog."

"I'm disappointed that these concept photos are for a full album, not just a special album."

"They look like photos taken by the manager."

"Honestly, compared to other groups, I don't think SM spends money on them."

"It's not that SM or Super Junior don't have money, it's just that they don't seem sincere."
