On December 9, Jinni announced her departure from NMIXX, a girl group launched by JYP Entertainment. On the same day, the news immediately sparked discussion among K-pop fans, questioning the real reason she quit.

In the screenshots of her bubble messages, the idol hinted at her future activities, revealing that she was practicing for something and that she couldn't wait to interact with NSWERs (fandom) more on their next comeback.

NMIXX Jinni for "ENTWURF"
According to fans, there was no hint from Jinni based on her bubble messages that she wanted to leave NMIXX. In fact, the "O.O" singer even emphasized how happy she was to debut after training for seven years.
As a brief context, Jinni had a long training period under JYP Entertainment. She entered the company in 2015 when she was only 11 and she dedicated her teens to it She even quit her school to focus on her dream.
Jinni then said she was looking forward to their future comeback and expressed the desire to meet and create more memories with their fans.
K-pop fans are stating that JYP Entertainment's official statement about Jinni's withdrawal doesn't make sense. They demand to know further details about the reason Jinni left.
Some are guessing whether Jinni was forced to leave.
JYP Entertainment Announces Jinni's Withdrawal From NMIXX, Contract Termination
On this day, Dec. 9, JYP Entertainment delivered the sad news that Jinni left NMIXX and terminated the exclusive contract with the agency.

"Jinni, who has been with NMIXX will leave the team for personal reasons and terminate the exclusive contract.
We are sorry to bother many fans with the sudden news. We ask for your understanding. We hope for a lot of encouragement to Jinni, who has taken a new path, and we ask for warm support from NSWERs to NMIXX members who will walk toward their dreams with more growth."
NMIXX will then continue its activities as a six-member group comprised of Lily, Haewon, Sullyoon, Bae, Jiwoo, and Kyujin.
