KBS World Unveils Most Loved Kpop Boy & Girl Groups, 'Solo Of The Year' 2022: BTS, BLACKPINK, More!
According to KBS World Radio, THESE K-pop groups and soloists - including BTS, BLACKPINK, IU, TWICE Nayeon and more - were selected as artists that made the most impact in 2022!
BTS Crowned As 'Singer of the Year' 2022
On December 20, KBS World Radio, the official international broadcasting station of South Korea, unveiled the results of its annual online survey in five categories.
The survey, which was launched in 2016 was conducted on KBS World Radio's website and mobile app (KBS WORLD) for about two weeks from November 21 to December 5, with a total of 276,362 people from 193 countries participating.
Indonesia had the largest number of participants, followed by China and the Philippines. The survey was divided into five categories, comprised of "Singer of the Year," "Song of the Year," "Boy Group of the Year," "Girl Group of the Year," and "Solo of the Year."

Following the survey then, BTS was selected as the No.1 "Singer of the Year," after earning 34.64% of the votes. Despite multiple hiatus this year, the septet didn't give up its top position since 2016, proving its global popularity in name and reality.
'Boy Group of the Year': BTS, Stray Kids, SEVENTEEN Enter Top 3
In the "Boy Group of the Year" category, BTS solidified its position as first place in this year's boy group category with nearly 40% of the vote. Most of their votes came from the Spanish-speaking population.

Trailing behind BTS is Stray Kids, one of the boy groups with the most outstanding growth this year. In third place is SEVENTEEN, one of the representative boy groups from third-gen.
If you will combine the votes of the three groups, it will reach about 75 percent of the overall votes.
'Girl Group of the Year': BLACKPINK, TWICE, NewJeans Enter Top 3
In this year's girl group category, BLACKPINK, the first Korean female artist to reach the top of the "Billboard 200," topped the list with 23.24% of the votes.

TWICE, the No. 1 girl group in 2021 fell behind a notch and ranked second with 18.24% of the votes. Nevertheless, they proved their impact after being crowned the most popular girl group in the U.S. this year.
Among rookie girl groups who challenged to earn the top stop, the new girl group NewJeans," which only debuted this year, is making a sensation among prominent girl groups, ranking third with a total of 14.13% of the votes.
'Soloist of the Year,' 'Song of the Year' Results
In this year's solo category, IU ranked first with 25.47 of the votes this year, maintaining its position since last year.

Meanwhile, TWICE Nayeon, who made a global dance craze with its debut song, "Pop!" ranked second (22.00%).
In the song category, "Yet To Come" released by BTS in June was selected as the song of the year with more than 30% of the vote.
On the other hand, full results of the survey can be found on KBS World Radio's website and mobile app, which will be only available starting on December 23.
The year-end special, "KBS World Radio K-POP Awards 2022," which is based on the survey results, will be broadcast in 11 languages for two days, from December 24 to December 25.
In the Korean language broadcast, STAYC Sieun, whose group is among the candidates for "Girl Group of the Year" and is loved by global fans for her outstanding stage and attractive voice, will be the host.
