On January 8, GOT7 BamBam appeared on the SBS TV entertainment program, "Master in the House 2," wherein a heated discussion among members took place under the theme, "Non-maritalism vs. Marriagism."

On the broadcast, the male idol surprised everyone by confessing that he was actually a non-maritalist.
The production team specifically asked the members:
"Did you know that BamBam is a non-maritalist?"

As he drew the attention of members Yang Se Hyung, Kim Dong Hyun, Eun Jiwon, NCT Doyoung, and Lee Daeho, BamBam declared:
"I'm completely single."
The male idol then explained:
"First of all, I came up to this position with difficulty (being an idol). In the case of being an idol, I don't have much free time. Idols are also always in hotels, so I don't want anyone to take my life away. I want to be happy alone and I don't want to live where I have to consider someone else's feelings."
With this response, NCT Doyoung and former Sechs Kies Eun Ji Won understood their co-idol and both declared being non-maritalists as well, but Lee Daeho and Kim Dong Hyun were convinced they still want to get married.
In addition to this, it seemed like BamBam's decision was also influenced by his brother's marriage life.
BamBam continued:
"My older brother recently got married. He says he's happy he has a son who is about three years old. He came to Korea three months ago, and I felt sorry after seeing his face. It wasn't his usual face. I think he has aged a lot."

Married stars including Shin Hyun Joon and Jung Jun Ho tried to convince BamBam by revealing their happy married lives and the fun of having kids. Shin even gave a baby shoe as a present for BamBam. The male idol drew laughter by saying:
"It's cute but scary. In Thailand, there is a ghost story that ghosts come in if there are baby items in a house without a baby. I'll keep it well."
BamBam Confesses He's Been Thinking About Marriage As He Approaches His 30s
When the broadcast concluded, BamBam's view on marriage became a hot topic among internet users and a lot found his answer really relatable.
Netizens wrote:
- "It's the same for me. I'm used to being alone. I can't imagine doing my daily routine while considering the decision and feelings of someone."
- "I want to get married before, but I realized I don't want to do it anymore."
- "That's why they say getting married is not for everyone. Some are not just ready to sacrifice their career and independent life they are used to having."
However, some K-pop fans highlighted how BamBam's views on marriage suddenly changed since his previous interview in December 2022.
When he was invited to "PSICK SHOW," he mentioned wanting to get married but not knowing how to flirt.
This is somehow related to his response when he appeared in Sakura's show in the same month, saying:
"That is still something very very far in the future. [...] I actually don't have any (exes)."
