During a radio broadcast, Dara revealed an anecdote when a then YG trainee mistook her for a rival. Hilariously, she was 21 years old at the time when the said trainee was only in primary school!
Dara Shares Anecdote With Trainee Who Mistook Her For Rival – Turns Out To Be Gong Minzy?
On January 10, Sandara Park joined the broadcast of MBC FM4U's "Kim Shin Young's Hope Song at Noon" as a special guest. There, Dara captured the attention of viewers by revealing her first meeting with Gong Minzy, her former co-2NE1 member.
According to her story, the two idols didn't start as friends immediately. Rather, Dara was treated as a rival by Minzy.

Dara narrated:
"When I first met Gong Minzy, I was 21 years old, and she was in her third grade of elementary school. But it felt like (Gong Minzy) was glaring at me. Later, I found out, 'She (Dara) is also an elementary school trainee, she said, 'You're my rival.' Since I'm new, she must have kept me in check because she thought she was my age."
Apparently, the 2NE1 maknae at the time mistook Dara as a primary schooler as well!
In response, Kim Shin Young said:
"(At that time) Gong Minzy was an elementary school student and was famous as a trainee. Sandara Park must have been small and quiet. I could have suspected her as an elementary school student, too."
Meanwhile, Sandara Park is currently 38 years old (Korean age) while Gong Minzy is 28 years old, having an age gap of 10 years.

Meanwhile, in the broadcast, Sandara Park also certified her natural beauty in her 30s and clarified the initial report that she underwent cosmetic surgery.
In November last year, the rumor of Dara getting a facelift, lip and boob surgery circulated online.

Regarding this, Dara explained:
"As I've been doing entertainment shows recently, I've become greedy for comments. I was misunderstood a lot because I once joked that, 'I can't imitate (comedian Kim Jun Hyun) by lifting down my mouth because I can't lower the corners of my mouth ever since I underwent facelifting.' But it's not like that. I'm born with it."
Kim Shin Young added,
"In fact, you must have been born to have a baby face. There is a structure that fits with cute features, a short philtrum, or a structure that fits the babyface. You match it all."
Sandara Park sympathized well and revealed that she was also misunderstood because she looked young and played with her younger siblings all the time.
Kim Shin Young hilariously reminisced about her personal experience of having a baby face and drew laughter by saying:
"I'm also in the second or third grade in elementary school when kindergarten students (came to me) and spoke inappropriately."
