In online communities and SNS, aespa Winter sparked debate among K-pop fans after crying like a baby due to a ghost prank. While MYs found it adorable, some thought that the act made them cringe.

aespa Winter Sheds Tears Like Baby Due To Ghost Prank

In the latest episode of wavve's "SYNK Road of aespa," the quartet on a trip were shown playing a game to determine their room assignment. The members were asked to pop a balloon as part of the mission, but little did they know that they have to do it with a "ghost."

The ghost prank A.K.A game then started in a dark playground and among members, Winter was really eager to win, heading the place with dignified steps.

However, Winter became skeptical when she noticed the gloomy atmosphere and even asked if there are ghosts.

After not seeing any, the aespa member went down the slide and finally saw what she was wary of.

NingNing laughed at what she saw, while Karina and Giselle were initially scared but still bravely completed the mission.

However, Winter was horrified and burst into tears, saying:

"Don't do that. Didn't you say you said there are no ghosts?"

She started blaming the staff behind the prank and even tearfully scolded the ghost while still trying to complete the mission.

In the end, the ghost helped Winter pop the balloon amid embarrassment.

Even after the prank, Winter continued to cry, and complained in a cute voice:

"I like horror movies, but I've never done this before (I did)."

Following the incident, the "unnie-line" (elder sisters), Karina and Giselle couldn't help but smile and laugh at how cute their younger member is.

People also found themselves smiling while watching the episode and left comments such as:

• "Winter is pretty even crying."
• "I'm too sad that she experienced being scared like this but she's really cute crying."
• "She stimulates the protective instinct properly."
• "Winter crying like a baby is the cutest thing you'll find on the internet these days."

Unfortunately, this act also gave a bad impression on Winter. Others then began expressing their opinions on the matter.

• "Ah, I can't watch this, too cringe."
• "Is she fake crying?"
• "Those tears look so fake."
• "Are you being too camera-conscious?"
• "No matter who cries like that, people will think it's acting."

In the past, not only Winter was accused of "purposely" acting cute or being too camera-conscious.

In a broadcast, IVE Jang Wonyoung was also once criticized for eating a strawberry using two hands. Her co-member Leeseo recently also made people cringe for crying after winning the daesang trophy during MAMA 2022.

As all of these female idols were still young when they debuted, so K-pop fans defended them and asked people to just leave them be.

Meanwhile, "SYNK Road of aespa" is the quartet's first solo reality show. It contains the process of aespa, who left for Gangwon's East Sea and Pyeongchang in Gangwon-do, enjoying various activities and games.
