GOT7 Yugyeom Reveals Thoughts On New Agency AOMG & Promoting As Soloist
On a pictorial for Arena Homme Plus magazine, GOT7 Yugyeom was also interviewed, which led him to share his thoughts regarding his new agency AOMG.
On February 19, 2022, AOMG announced that the main dancer will be joining the company after his departure from JYP Entertainment. The current agency supports Yugyeom as a soloist, as well as his endeavors with GOT7.
Yugyeom has joined AOMG's "FOLLOW THE MOVEMENT" Tour, together with his labelmates Simon Dominic, Loco, GRAY, and Lee Hi
The AOMG agency, otherwise known as "Above Ordinary Music Group" was founded by artist Jay Park in 2013.
On the interview, Yugyeom shared his experiences, stating how his labelmates are individually talented, while possessing knowledge on different kinds of music. He added that performing with them in one song was an enjoyable memory.
Moreover, the idol was also interviewed regarding his thoughts in promoting solo. Yugyeom replied how there are ups and downs. However, he expressed that taking this path is currently the most suitable for him.
Regarding GOT7, Yugyeom stated that he thinks of the members like old friends. He highlighted their strong bond with each other, despite promoting individually.
"Each of these various artists performed music genres they are skilled at individually on AOMG's events. But when we perform as one group, it feels like we're one cohesive unit, which I found fascinating and enjoyable."
"There are pros and cons, but I think a solo career is a better fit for me currently. I feel like I have a long relationship with the members of GOT7 no matter what."
Aside from his career, the idol was also asked about his latest hobbies. Yugyeom replied that he's into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) lately, and even mentioning he's now labelmates with Jung Chan Sung, a UFC fighter. Yugyeom followed up that he goes on Chan Sung's gym to have his daily workout session.
Furthermore, GOT7's maknae revealed his plans this 2023, which is to give fans more music and energetic performances.
"Currently, I just took interest on Mixed Martial Arts. I also go to Chan Sung's gym to work out every day. This 2023, my goal is to give out more fresh music and performances."
GOT7 Yugyeom Reveals Reason For Joining Jay Park's Agency AOMG
On February 19, 2022, AOMG announced Yugyeom's official signing in the agency. On the same day, Elle magazine posted on their Instagram featuring Yugyeom's photos.
According to the magazine, the artist also took his time answering interview questions.
Yugyeom then revealed the reason why he joined AOMG. He stated how "musical direction" is an important aspect and expressed how nervous he was, since this is the first time the agency signed an active idol in.
The maknae also voiced out that this is a chance for GOT7 members to pursue their own dreams.
"I think it is ultimately the team's chance to achieve each other's dreams. I want to exist as a person who develops and grows in the future."
