'The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday' Creates Breakthrough, Making Red Velvet Million-Sellers

On January 25, it was reported that Red Velvet has now become million sellers, with their album "The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday."

According to SM Entertainment, the mini album has now sold a total of 1,029,463 copies as of January 20. This is Red Velvet's first album to reach the millionth mark.

Aside from their sellouts, the album also achieved the highest pre-order counts, amassing an overall 712,187 pre-orders. With this fact alone, Red Velvet's success in the album was expected, since it was also highly anticipated by their loving fandom, ReVeluvs.

The album contains five songs, which are "Birthday," "On A Ride," "Celebrate," Zoom," and "Bye Bye."

The tracks are well-loved by fans due to its festive mood, which encapsulates Red Velvet's "Red" side. The track's main format is pop genre, where it features instruments such as drums, synths, and a trap rhythm.

Red Velvet Dominates on iTunes Charts With 'The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday'

Just after being released on November 28, 2022, Red Velvet's EP rose on iTunes Album charts across different countries worldwide. It ranked No. 1 in at least 47 countries such as Brazil, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, Hongkong, Canada, Philippines, Malaysia and more.

"The ReVe Festival 2022 - Birthday" is also Red Velvet's second-most No. 1 placed album on iTunes charts, alongside BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK."

Meanwhile, it has reached No. 1 on the European iTunes Album and Worldwide iTunes Album charts.

Aside from iTunes, the album also ranked No. 1 on QQ Musical Digital Album Sales Chart, proving their wide fanbase in China. It has also made its way to the top on domestic album charts Synnara, Hottracks, and Hanteo.

Its title track "Birthday" entered the Worldwide iTunes Song chart at No. 21, and B-side song "On A Ride" debuted the same list, earning its place on No. 180. The song also debuted on South Korea, placing No, 1 on Bugs, No. 16 on Genie, and No. 19 on Melon.

The music video was released on November 28, and has currently garnered 30,184,870 views since its release. ReVeluvs were thrilled to see the girl group shine in their amazing performances and colorful outfits. They also praised Red Velvet for staying true to their experimental sound.
