In a recent fan sign event, NewJeans Minji encountered a rude, tactless fan. Despite this, the idol drew dealt with the situation politely.
In particular, a Bunny (NewJeans fan), attended one of the quintet's fansign. During the event, she overheard another fan interacting with Minji, who shockingly asked the celebrity:
"Where did you get your nose done?"
The woman explained she would want to get her nose job just like Minji's.
Rather than showing a perplexed reaction or defending herself, Minji used the fan's explanation to respond with class, saying:
"Why would you (unnie) be needing plastic surgery? You are pretty just the way you look now, so you don't have to do it."
Although Minji was able to respond without making it a big deal, the Bunny who heard this was so shocked she couldn't talk to the other members properly.
When a video containing the context of the incident was released, K-pop fans praised Minji's maturity and polite attitude, showing concern to her fan more than a potential issue.

Meanwhile, speculations about Minji getting a nose job started right after her debut in 2022, when the "Attention" singer's elementary photos circulated on social media.
According to people, the idol most likely had plastic surgery done on her face, especially her eyes and nose. Some stated that compared to her current look, her double eyelids are not as deep as when she was a kid. Her nose bridge now is taller and slimmer.
However, fans immediately defended the K-pop star and explained that she looks the same but she became prettier after her debut.

On the other hand, NewJeans continues to create incredible feats.
On February 5, NewJeans' debut song, "Hype Boy," surpassed 200 million cumulative streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform.
According to the music site, "Hype Boy" recorded 2101,566 cumulative plays in 186 days after its sound source was released on August 1 last year as of Feb. 3.
As a result, NewJeans finally had their first 200 million streaming song on Spotify.
In addition to this, "Hype Boy" also ranked 89th on the global "Weekly Top Songs" chart released by Spotify, showing its unabated popularity.
