BLACKPINK Jisoo MIGHT Renew Contract With YG... In Exchange For THIS?

Amid debate about whether BLACKPINK will renew its contract with YG Entertainment, K-pop enthusiasts and media outlets think that member Jisoo will most likely sign with the agency again after THIS news.

BLACKPINK Jisoo To Have BIGGEST Solo Debut Among Members

Jisoo may be the last BLACKPINK member to debut as a soloist, but YG attested that this will be going to be the grandest among the quartet!

On February 21, YG Entertainment, the agency of BLACKPINK confirmed that Jisoo began to shoot for her new music video.

"BLACKPINK Jisoo's solo music video is being secretly filmed overseas all-location."

As the "Ice Cream" singer's solo MV is planned to be filmed in other countries, K-pop fans, especially BLINKs (fandom) are already expecting that this will further maximize the charm of the song and enrich the attractions while watching the video.

As of now, the countries, cities and concepts that will be included in Jisoo's first solo album are yet to be revealed.

While this is exciting enough, YG also attested their great confidence in Jisoo's individual skills and potential, revealing that this will NOT be like other BLACKPINK MVs.

"We have invested the LARGEST production cost among BLACKPINK videos, so you can look forward to it."

According to YG's album work schedule, most of the music videos have been last-minute, suggesting that Jisoo's solo debut is imminent.

Jisoo also worked hard on her solo album to keep her promise to her fans despite her world tour schedule. It is said that she devoted a special affection to her solo album, even re-recording it despite her busy schedule for the album's completeness.

As the last runner of BLACKPINK's solo project, fans at home and abroad are curious about how Jisoo's identity, unique voice and incredible performance will be included in her upcoming release.

Will Jisoo Renew Her Contract With YG Entertainment?

Following this news, there are K-pop enthusiasts and internet users who strongly believe that Jisoo will remain in YG, amid talks about how BLACKPINK might part ways once their contract renewal discussion will be finalized.

The main reason they think the idol actress will stay was due to her aspiration to debut as a soloist and continue her path in acting. As YG boasted that they gave Jisoo the highest production cost among members, there are speculations that the agency is trying to court Jisoo by sparing no effort to give her a successful solo launch.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, since its debut, has continued its all-time career as a K-pop girl group, breaking various records every time they release a solo album.

Currently, the four-member team is conducting the largest world tour of K-pop girl groups, "BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK]," which mobilized about 1.5 million people. After successfully completing their 14th North American performance in seven cities and their 10th European tour in seven cities last year, they are continuing their tour to Asia in 2023.

In addition, the quartet will be on stage as a headliner at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in the U.S. in April and the British Summer Time (BST) Hyde Park Festival in the U.K. in July.
