ARMYs Defend BTS Jimin After People Dubbed Him as HYBE's 'Favorite' — Here's What Happened

ARMYs backed up BTS Jimin from a netizen who dubbed him as HYBE's favorite, resulting in a heated exchange.

Here's what happened.

HYBE's Solo Promotion For BTS Jimin Receives Flak - Why Is It 'Discriminatory'?

On February 22, Korean a netizen called out HYBE for BTS Jimin's promotion schedule. The internet user pointed out Jimin's promotion for his upcoming solo album "FACE," and compared it to other BTS members' marketing approach.

The user listed multiple key points to bring out HYBE's "discrimination," which specified an unfair promotional dissemination. Overall, the list elaborated how Jimin's schedule was more consistent than BTS members' previous promotions, including their group, and solo activities.

To begin, the user stated that Jimin's pre-order timeframe was over one month, while other members received either nine days or two weeks of preparation.

The user followed that Jimin's first week sales will be reflected immediately, instead of one month after its album shipment. It also claimed the first week sales of previous BTS soloists have only reflected from Korean sales, and were one month late in terms of overseas sales.

Moreover, it added that member J-Hope never had a physical album for his "Jack In The Box" comeback and was only issued digitally on Weverse.

It also conveyed dissatisfaction with Jimin receiving support from HYBE's producers, alongside foreign ones for his solo album preparations, while the production for BTS's rap line was solely out of their own network. It also added that BTS's vocal line also didn't receive any support from HYBE, leading them to make their own mixtapes for four years.

In the user's post, it also suspected Jimin being HYBE's favorite, due to having multiple promotions this 2023 and seemingly "eclipsing" other members' endeavors.

During the discussion, Jimin's music show activities and video fansigns were also called out, claiming that BTS group promotions never had one for the past three years.

The poster also mentioned Jimin's latest activities such as song collabs, fashion ambassador signing, fashion week, and his consecutive social media updates.

These back-to-back activities were compared to other BTS soloists, who have had their albums dropped two weeks before its actual release, and didn't get to release any additional content before publishing.

Lastly, the user expressed frustration over the chronological order of BTS's solo album releases.

ARMYs Defend BTS Jimin From The Post's Onslaught, Causing Heated Exchanges

ARMYs were enraged to see the claims, claiming how unnecessary it is for the user to post a derogatory rant regarding Jimin. They claimed that a single aspect like promotion is just a matter of schedule distribution.

Others claimed that promoting a comeback has a lot to do with the artist's choices, and it's up to them whether to do K-pop related activities or not.

While some cannot deny several points, ARMYs concluded that engaging in conflicts won't change anything. Some agreed to the post, claiming it as actual facts.

See their comments below:

"What's the point of the post? Are you saying that Jimin deserves the hate?"

"Ahjumma, are you not ashamed of living your life like that at your age?"

"What the? If we keep on pouring our grievances like that, there would be no end to it. This post is weird, trying to gang up against Jimin."

"It's true that the pre-sales and stuff like that can be blamed on the company, but stuff like fansigns and music shows could be actually based on the members' own will too, so we'll never know."

"Shouldn't we just wait and see how they'll treat the next member's solo first?"

"It can't be helped that there will be difference from one member to the other, but the fact is that if the difference is way too big, of course the fans are allowed to speak about it."

"I can totally prove that I'm a fan. But from the first to the last line, there's not a single wrong information. The fans who are trying to refute the post here must be Jimin's individual fans."
