Boys Planet Episode 4 Recap: Contestants Continue Heated Rivalry on Group Battle Mission

The fourth episode of Mnet's survival program "Boys Planet" has been aired, which continued the intense rivalry between K-group and G-group.

Boys Planet Episode 4 Recap: Groups Continue Rivalry on Cover Battle Mission    

On episode 4 of "Boys Planet," the rivalry between G-Group and K-group continued, facing off with their cover battles.

In episode 3, Hwang Minhyun announced that the next mission will bring out the contestants' skill, star power, and teamwork on a battle round. Seven teams were split between the two batches, and each rival team will perform the song from a best-selling group.

After the mission, Star Creators will announce the winning team through an on-site voting, which will be followed by their first elimination on the show. As previously mentioned on episode 3, Star Creators will give 100,000 points to the victor.

It will also be merged with all seven teams from each group. For those teams who'll win more points, an additional 10,000 points will be added.

The 7 songs assigned to the groups were from popular artists who are game-changers in K-pop. Their setlist comprised of "VERY NICE" by SEVENTEEN, "LOVE ME RIGHT" by EXO, "Danger" by BTS, "Hot Sauce" by NCT Dream, "Burn It Up" by Wanna One, "Back Door" by Stray Kids, and "Kill This Love" by BLACKPINK."

The first three performances included "VERY NICE" by SEVENTEEN, "Kill This Love" by BLACKPINK, and "Love Me Right" by EXO.

On episode 4, the chapter started with Star Master Hwang Minhyun introducing the next performing group. In a surprising note, the next song will be "Burning Up" by Wanna One, a group that Minhyun has been affiliated with from 2017 to 2019.

Both panels and fans realized immediately how nostalgic the song was for Minhyun, which led the Star Master to express how much he misses Wanna One.

On an unexpected segment, audiences cheered on Minhyun, leading him to perform a short impromptu dance from "Burn Up." Fans cheered loudly for Minhyun, while the contestants were amazed backstage.

To start the battle, Minhyun voiced out how much he's looking forward to seeing the groups' covers and called both teams on stage.

At the end, K-group won the mission with a total of 3,615 points, while G-group scored 2,084 points. The mission ended with K-group as the victor, earning members 10,000 points each.

As the episode coming to an end, Minhyun announced that the contestants will get the chance to perform on M Countdown, and showcase their PR video.

It's revealed that the Star Creators have voted on one noteworthy stage among all 14 teams. K-team's "Back Door" performance was picked as the most watch-worthy stage, causing joy to the group.           

Minhyun also added that the first survival announcement will be released, which will determine which 52 of the 93 trainees will advance to the next round.
