37th Japan Gold Disc Awards Winners: BTS, SEVENTEEN, More Take Home Trophies

On March 10, the 37th Japan Gold Disc Awards winners were announced by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

In the list, BTS dominated by claiming five awards. The group won Best Asian Artist award for the fifth consecutive year, as well as Song of the Year by Download (Asia) for "Yet to Come."

BTS also bagged the Music Video of the Year (Asia) for "BTS 2021 MUSTER SOWOOZOO." Their album "Proof" also joined on one of the Best 3 Albums (Asia).

Not only did BTS achieve awards as a group, but also individually. BTS Jungkook won the Song of the Year by Streaming (Western) with "Left and Right," his collab track with singer songwriter Charlie Puth.

SEVENTEEN snagged three awards, claiming Album of the Year (Asia) with Japanese extended play "DREAM." They also secured two places in the Best 3 Albums with "DREAM" and Korean album "Face the Sun."

Rookie monster group IVE claimed the trophy for New Artist of the Year (Asia). On the Asian category of Best 3 New Artists, IVE, Kep1er, and VERIVERY took the spots, due to their 2022 Japanese debut releases.

Furthermore, Kep1er won "Song of the Year by Streaming" (Asia) with their first Korean track "WA DA DA."

In other news, the winners for the 2022 Japan Gold Disc Awards were revealed. On the awarding, BTS made history by winning a total of 10 awards. With this huge achievement, BTS became the first overseas artist to accomplish the feat in one year.

The K-pop sensation took home Artist of the Year for the fourth time, Album of the Year (Asia) for Japanese release "BTS, THE BEST," and Music Video of the Year (Asia) for "Map of the Soul ON:E." BTS also received the honor of joining the Best 3 Albums (Asia).

Their smash hit "Butter" won Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia), as well as Song of the Year by Download (Asia). Their collab hit with Coldplay, "My Universe," got awarded with Song of the Year by Download (Western.)

BTS also received a place on the Best 5 Songs by Download. "Butter" and "Permission to Dance" both earned its place on the Best 5 Songs by Streaming (alongside Japanese and Western releases).

SEVENTEEN's "Attacca" and TXT's "Chaotic Wonderland" joined in the Best 3 Albums (Asia). ENHYPEN also won the New Artist of the Year (Asia) and a spot on the Best 3 Albums, alongside ITZY and TREASURE.
