Yerin's Trainee Personal Life, Trainee History, Debut With GFRIEND

Yerin was born in Seoul, South Korea. Before she became affiliated with Source Music, Yerin was a trainee in Fantagio from 2012 to 2014, with the aim of becoming a K-pop idol.

In terms of her educational background, Yerin attended the prestigious School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA), where she officially graduated in February 2015.

On September 2014, Source Music declared the upcoming debut of their first ever girl group, GFRIEND. Numerous pre-debut pictures were released online, comprising of Sowon, Yuju, Eunha, Umji, SinB, and Yerin herself.

On January 16, 2015, Yerin debuted with the critically acclaimed GFRIEND with their first mini album "Season of Glass," alongside its title track, "Glass Bead."

The group became known for their synchronized movements, and hard choreography. Their songs were also appreciated by the local community, because of the unique orchestral pop infused on their music.

After releasing "Glass Bead," GFRIEND followed up numerous hits such as "Me Gustas Tu," "Rough," "Fingertip," "Time for the Moon Night," "Sunny Summer," "Sunrise," "Fever," "Crossroads," "Apple," and "Mago."

GFRIEND Faces Disbandment in 2020, Yerin's Solo Activities

On May 18, 2021, Source Music announced that all GFRIEND members won't be renewing their exclusive contracts with the company, which were set to end on May 22, 2021. Afterwards, it was revealed that GFRIEND will also be officially disbanding.

On May 19, 2021, all GFRIEND members, including Yerin uploaded handwritten notes, acknowledging the group's disbandment, shocking the K-pop community.

With this saddening news, this left Yerin no choice but to move forward with her career. On June 17, 2021, Yerin became the first GFRIEND member to join a new label. The idol signed an exclusive contract with Sublime Artist Agency, which will support her solo activities.

Yerin then proceeded to continue her idol career. On April 15, 2022, a SUBLIME representative announced that Yerin would be releasing an album on the month of May. On May 18, Yerin released her solo debut album "Aria," and its title track of the same name.

Meanwhile, on August 19, 2021, Sublime Artist Agency announced that Yerin would be making her acting debut in web-drama "Witch Shop Reopen."

What Are Yerin's Current Activities Now?

On March 16, Yerin parted ways with Sublime Artist Agency. The agency stated that Yerin's reason of departure was due to her contract's expiration. After a careful deliberation between the agency and Yerin, the discussion concluded Yerin's decision not to renew her contract.

Yerin is also active on her official Instagram account. The idol has posted two gorgeous photos after her departure from Sublime Artist Agency.

The first photo featured the singer on a stylish red dress, while the second one showed her enjoying spring season.
