THIS IVE Member Almost Became Doctor If She Didn't Debut as K-pop Idol: Who Is She?

While THIS IVE member initially dreamt of becoming a doctor, it seems like her greater desire to become a singer reigned!

IVE Leeseo Confesses She Almost Became Doctor

On April 11, IVE Leeseo appeared as a guest on the music talk show, "Lee Mujin Service," uploaded on KBS K-pop's YouTube channel.

On this day, the female idol born in 2007, shared a conversation with the singer about various topics. In particular, MC Mujin mentioned how Leeseo set the record as the youngest "passenger" (guest) of the "Lee Mujin (Limousine) service," being 16 years old.

The host then asked Leeseo who was the most famous artist generation during her generation, to which the star replied, "Red Velvet."

If asked if the quintet influenced her to become an idol as well, Leeseo politely refuted it and explained:

"I joined the company through casting. In fact, I really don't have an interest in music. I want to learn a different thing. But after becoming a trainee, I became interested in music, so I decided to do this, and worked hard since then."

During the broadcast, Leeseo also revealed what her occupation would be if she didn't debut as an IVE member.

"I wanted to just study hard and become a doctor. It's totally different, right?"

Following the broadcast, Leeseo's pre-debut photos where she was wearing a doctor's uniform became a hot topic, imagining that the idol's life would be so different if she followed her original dream.

But fortunately for DIVEs (fandom), Leeseo's passion to become an idol reigned, and that's how they were able to meet a lovely and talented idol through IVE.

IVE Leeseo Praised For Her Live Vocals

In the same broadcast, the "After LIKE" singer didn't only attract attention for her shocking original dream, but she also garnered praise for her live singing skills.

In the show, Leeseo revealed that she was pressured after watching her other co-members episodes with the show, but her shy aura changed once her mic was on.

During her performance of various songs, Leeseo presented a clean and distinct tone, especially singing IVE's song, "Blue Blood."

The young singer also proved her wide vocal spectrum, performing covers of EXO Baekhyun's "Bungee," 15&'s "Star" and Sam Kim feat Crush's "Make Up" along with Lee Mujin.

More of Leeseo's singing can be seen through IVE's first full-length album, "I've IVE" unveiled on April 10.

In particular, the team to which Leeseo belongs is currently dominating the music scene with its title track, "I AM" and its pre-released song, "Kitsch."

As Billboard's latest chart for April 15 dropped on the 11th, IVE's "Kitsch" entered the Billboard Global Chart, one of the site's main charts, proving its influence.

The album also boasts hot popularity by entering all songs on major domestic music sites immediately after its release on the 10th.
