Red Velvet Irene Hints at Solo Debut During Birthday Fan Meeting

Red Velvet Irene "confirmed" becoming the fourth runner to debut as a soloist in the group!

On April 13, the Red Velvet's leader and main visual Irene held her birthday fan meeting, "2023 HAPPY IRENE DAY" at the Yes24 Live Hall.

In particular, the star who had her 32nd birthday on March 29 belatedly meet fans to celebrate the special day with them.

On this day, Irene appeared in a costume reminiscent of a fairy tale princess and had a good time communicating with fans.

Irene particularly expressed her affection for ReVeluvs by saying:

"I wanted to be a person who can keep the things that are precious to me well so that the time you waited for me is not wasted. I want to fill up what I lack and do well. Thanks to you, I can become stronger. Thank you."

Just then, Irene dropped her birthday gift to fans by saying:

"Are you waiting for my solo album?"

 With just this question alone, fans were truly sent into a frenzy and raised anticipation of Bae Joo Hyun's debut album.

Irene Performs Unreleased Song 'Ka-Ching'

As if Irene's indirect confirmation is not enough, the female star boosted K-pop enthusiasts' excitement by performing an unreleased track, "Ka-Ching" which is supposed to be part of her upcoming solo release.

During the performance, Irene delivered sweet and energetic vocals along with exciting dance and hand movements.

After watching it, fans left rave reviews such as:

  • "I'm excited to hear Irene's solo."
  • "You're so pretty."
  • "Thank you. I love you."

Red Velvet Irene Showcases Possible Logo For Solo Debut

Aside from Irene's announcement and unreleased song, the anticipation also arose even more due to the logo the "Pyscho" singer used during her fan meeting.

In the said logo, Irene's name initial was specifically engraved in her official solo color: pink.

Just like her other co-members who debuted ahead of her, Joy (green) Wendy (blue) and Seulgi (yellow/orange) also dropped their individual logos in their designated colors.

With this, Red Velvet fans are pretty much only waiting for the official position of SM Entertainment!

Meanwhile, Red Velvet, to which Irene belongs recently successfully completed their 2023 global tour performance in Seoul.

Red Velvet's fourth solo concert "Red Velvet 4th Concert: R to V" was held at KSPO DOME in Seoul's Olympic Park on April 1st and 2nd.

During the show, the quintet delivered spectacular performances with a full set list of both lively red and luxurious velvet concepts to match the concert title "R to V."

After the concert, Red Velvet said:

"It became a beautiful memory. Thank you for making us happy artists. We will try to become a Red Velvet who respects your unconditional love and can receive that heart with gratitude. With your strength, we think we will be able to come back after our work hard on the tour."
