Naevis Solo Debut: AI Character To Participate in aespa's New Song As Featuring Artist
Even before the release of aespa's third mini-album, "MY World" in May, the four-member team has been capturing the interest of K-pop fans and netters for their exciting news and teasers!
First, fans reacted positively after the announcement that Naevis, the beloved character in aespa's worldview, will be debuting as a virtual artist.
On April 26, SM Entertainment confirmed that Naevis will participate in the pre-release song, "Welcome to MY World" as a feature.
"Welcome to MY World" is an alternative pop song that features dreamy guitar riffs and grand orchestration in the latter half. The song depicts the message of aespa inviting the upcoming AI singer Naevis along with fans to the REAL WORLD.

As a background, Naevis first appeared in the "MY, KARINA" teaser video and was officially introduced through "Next Level" MV as a fictional character that acts as a "helper" to support the aespa in the real world and ae-aespa from the virtual world. Based on the narrative of the SMCU (SM Culture Universe), Naevis sacrificed herself to defeat the villain BLACK MAMBA in KWANGYA.
In response, netizens left rave reviews such as:

Eventually, their video teasers showed bizarre scenes such as virtual humans walking naturally on building walls as if it is the ground and unidentified objects seen floating and bouncing on the road.
Together with the intriguing concept, fans emphasized that the visuals and individual charm of the members perfectly and equally stood out in the teasers, raising expectations of how will they maintain this in the official MV and song.
Will 'Welcome to MY World' Becomes aespa's New Hit?
Third and last, attention is focused if aespa will be able to capture fans' music taste once again with its upcoming release, amid strong rivals, IVE, NewJeans, NMIXX and LE SSERAFIM.
"Welcome to MY World" will be released on various music sites on May 2 as a pre-release track and aespa will unveil its third mini-album "MY WORLD" on May 8.
The mini-album will be comprised of a total of 6 tracks including "Welcome To My World", "Spicy", "Salty & Sweet", "Thirsty", "I'm Unhappy", and "Till We Meet Again."
