In a popular online community, aespa Winter caused worry among fans, especially MYs, with her skinny body exposing her ribs.
In particular, after about 11 months since they released its second mini-album, "Girls" in July 2022, the quartet finally returned on May 8 with its third mini-album, "MY WORLD," introducing the title track, "Spicy."
With the release of their album, they began a full-fledged comeback promotion including their appearance in various music programs.
On May 11 then, aespa performed on Mnet's "M Countdown," and flaunted impressive stage for their title track and the b-sidetrack, "Salty & Sweet."
On this day, Winter showed off a provocative style wearing a hot pink bra top partnered with a mini skirt during the "Spicy" stage, earning praises.

However, amid rave reviews for her visuals, some fans' concerns poured out when they noticed that Winter's body is so skinny her ribs were clearly showing while they were doing their choreography.
As soon as her photos and videos were shared online, a lot of netizens shared the same sentiment and wrote:

- "She couldn't even attend the Japanese concert last month due to poor condition."
- "I can't believe she performed with that small body."
On the flip side, there are MYs who defended Winter and implied that those criticizing and "body shaming" her should just mind their own businesses.
However, other fans left comments that they weren't trying to body-shame her but were purely showing concern about her health.
- "She's originally skinny, but I think she had lost more weight recently."
- "It would be nice if she could gain a little weight."
- "I just hope Winter is healthy."

On the other hand, aespa, the group to which Winter belongs continues to show off their status as a fourth-gen leader.
Following the release of their new mini-album, "MY WORLD," aespa broke the K-pop girl group record for highest first-day sales. According to Hanteo Chart, the quartet's album garnered 1,3729.29 million sold copies just a day after its release, while they earned 1.8 million pre-orders.
With this, the team succeeded in solidifying its second consecutive million-seller title following its second mini-album "Girls" released in July last year.
In addition to their physical album's sales, their performance digitally was also impressive, as "MY WORLD" topped major domestic and international music charts, including Japan, Finland, Brazil, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Chile, Malaysia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, Turkey, Oman, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Laos, Uzbekistan, India, Hungary, etc.
Since its release, the title song "Spicy" has topped the Bugs and Vibe real-time charts, and its tracks "Thirsty," "Salty & Sweet," "I'm Unhappy," and "Til We Meet Again" have also entered the charts.
