BTOB Members Try 'MZ Selfie' Trend— Only For Their Entries To Hilariously Fail!

Second-gen idols are built differently! While 3rd and 4th-gen idols are aiming to have the best photos for the "MZ Selfie" trend, BTOB "clowned" their juniors by dropping hilarious entries of the challenge!

BTOB Members Draw Laughter After Revealing Entries for 'MZ Selfie' Trend

"Ballad Kings" BTOB may be singing songs with the most painful and deepest lyrics in K-pop, but on the contrary, the team's members are the most unserious idols you'll ever encounter!

When the year 2023 began, a new trend arose among fourth-gen idols called the inception selfie, hereinafter the MZ selfie.

The rule is simple, you just have to switch your phone to selfie mode but instead of taking it normally, you must turn it upside down facing the mirror and take the shot.

Note that the aim of this selfie is to get the effect of having three reflections of yourself in just one photo!

Among third-gen and fourth-gen idols, TWICE Nayeon, ITZY Chaeryeong, aespa Karina, NCT Taeyong, VIVIZ SinB and more all tried this trend and ultimately rocked it. Thanks to the aforementioned idols, this selfie method also spread among Koreans, then reaching BTOB.

In May, the team finally released their much-awaited album, giving them the opportunity to show their juniors what a "trendsetter" means.

In the fandom-communicating platform, Sungjae and Seo Eunkwang proved that they can follow the trend and shared their entries.

But just like how BTOB is a team comprised of unserious members, none of the two understood the assignment!

Hilariously, Sungjae forgot the decrease the brightness of his phone— while Seo Eunkwang forgot to increase it!

Indeed, when the leader and maknae do things together, it's just pure chaos!

Despite this comical failure, it became a huge topic among internet users and K-pop enthusiasts especially MELODYs (fandom) and fans were teasing them that they still successfully "clowned" their juniors who were serious about the trend.

  • "Sungjae's like my dad hahaha"
  • "Ack. Really hahaha"
  • "Seo Eunkwang is really funny."
  • "LMAO the other one's too bright, the other one is too dim."
  • "Of course, it's BTOB breaking this trend again."

Hilariously, when these photos were shared, MELODYs tried to jokingly defend Sungjae and revealed his other entry– which is undoubtedly more iconic!

Rather than taking it using a regular-sized phone, Sungjae was the first one to take it using a standing LCD TV screen!

Fortunately, not everyone who tried the trend among BTOB members failed as Minhyuk was able to save the group's face with his awesome entry of "MZ selfie."

BTOB's 'Wind And Wish' Surpasses 20M Views

Meanwhile, BTOB, who are known as K-pop icons are not only earning attention for their hilarious entries of "MZ selfie," but their recent comeback was also earning rave reviews from K-pop fans.

As of May 17, its title track, "Wind And Wish" of its 12th mini-album with the same name reached 20 million views, two weeks after its release.

The MV captures the more mature visuals of BTOB, creating a dreamy and mysterious feeling. The song introduced a BTOB-style dance ballad with the group's charming voice as if whispering in the listener's ear.

The song also implies a message that BTOB will become "Lucky Charm" on its own and spread "positive energy" to the world with the desire for the happiness and well-being of loved ones.
