aespa Becomes Fastest Girl Group to Achieve 'Double-Million Seller' Title With Album 'MY WORLD'
On May 22, SM Entertainment revealed aespa's new achievement for album "MY WORLD."
In their announcement, "MY WORLD" has now sold a total of 2,011,388 on May 21, placing another ground-breaking feat for aespa and K-pop girl groups. "MY WORLD" only took two weeks to exceed 2 million album sales, considering that it was released on May 8.
This accomplishment also led aespa to earn the title of "double-million seller," and become the fastest K-pop girl group to do so.
They have now followed BLACKPINK, who achieved the "double-million seller" status with 2022 album "BORN PINK." Apart from this, "MY WORLD" also attained numerous feats on physical album sales.
On May 8, at 6 p.m. KST, aespa released "MY WORLD" along with its title track "Spicy." According to the data collected by Hanteo Chart, "MY WORLD" garnered 1,372,929 sold-out copies on its first day of release, making aespa the third K-pop girl group in history to surpass 1 million copies on the first day.

This broke the record previously held by BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK," which accomplished a figure of 1,011,266 sold-out albums that was covered on September 16, 2022
On May 15, aespa also achieved the highest first-week sales for female artists in Hanteo. With the chart's report, "MY WORLD" sold 1,698,784 album copies on its first week, which was from May 8 to 14.

This also surpassed their own record held by previous mini album "Girls" that sold 1,126,068 copies on its first week. The first-week sales of "MY WORLD" has also led aespa to become the only K-pop female artist to land two albums with first-week million copies sold each.

In other news, aespa also made headlines with their newest mini album. On May 9 at 11 a.m. KST, "MY WORLD" ranked on the No. 1 spot for iTunes Top Albums charts, proving its popularity across 20 different regions including Singapore, Japan, Brazil, and many more.
"MY WORLD" also received attention for its pre-order stock performance. On May 8, SM Entertainment revealed that aespa's "MY WORLD" has collected a total of 1.8 million stock pre-orders, exceeding their personal record with "Girls" that gained a figure of 1.61 million.
They are only bested by BLACKPINK, who managed to earn 2 million copies for album "BORN PINK." Meanwhile, its title track "Spicy" currently has 73,325,567 views on YouTube, as of May 22.
