Will PENTAGON Hui Renew Contract With Cube Entertainment? Here's Idol's Response
Ahead of PENTAGON's contract renewal season, leader Hui revealed his relationship with members and CUBE, hinting at whether he will part ways or not with the group and agency.
PENTAGON Hui Asked About Renewing Contract With Cube – Here's His Reply
In an interview, Hui, the leader of PENTAGON answered various questions regarding the status of his career in his current team, and company and what changed has changed after joining Mnet's "Boys Planet."
On May 21, the male idol particularly sat down for a talk with various Korean media outlets including JTBC to commemorate his participation in the aforementioned audition program.
Hui, who was discharged from the military in November 2022, surprised K-pop fans when it was revealed that rather than a full-fledged comeback, the seven-year idol and producer will return as a trainee and wanted to re-debut as a fifth-gen boy group through "Boys Planet."
Despite his impeccable performance, Hui failed to join the final lineup of ZEROBASEONE after ranking 13th in the last episode.

In the interview, he opened up about the reason he joined the show as well as revealed the members' reaction after letting them know about it.
Hui hinted at the lack of power against Cube, saying:
"There were realistically frustrating situations when I returned to PENTAGON after the hiatus. I felt that I lacked the power and influence to change something. There were not many options given when I thought change was necessary. It was an adventure (to appear) on "Boys Planet," but I thought it was right to do it at the time."
Regarding the reaction of the members, the leader confessed that not everyone agreed at letting him join at first.
"There were members who cheered for me, members who were sad, and members who didn't like the idea, but there were not many options given. I needed an adventure to make a starting point even for a small fire."
Fortunately, as the program progressed the members eventually decided to give him their full support.
"I was so thankful. I really want to be a leader and an older brother who helps the members."
During the program, there are negative reactions, especially from UNIVERSEs (fandom) directed to Cube Entertainment. Fans complained that Hui didn't have to do everything if they treated him and the group better, especially in their group and solo endeavors.
As such, people's attention is focused if PENTAGON will renew its contract with its agency this contract renewal season.
Regarding this, Hui responded:
"I don't think it's something I should rush to say. The whole situation is open and various discussions are underway. I'm having a lot of conversations with the members. What I can tell you is that our relationship is really good. I always think about how to develop ourselves into a cool team."
PENTAGON Embarks on Japan Concert
After completing a five-month survival competition program, Hui is currently spending endless days working on music and practicing for PENTAGON concerts. Seven years have passed since his debut in October 2016, and interest in the future of PENTAGON is also high.
Hui said:
"PENTAGON 2023 FAN CONCERT" will be held at NHK Hall on the 24th and 25th of next week. There are many schedules scheduled afterward. There are opportunities to show a new side of me. I'm going to run hard."
