Lilies Furious After Journalist Mistook BLACKPINK Lisa For Jennie

Lilies (BLACKPINK Lisa's solo fanbase) are unhappy after a journalist and photographer allegedly disrespected the idol after doing THIS.

The issue ignited when BLACKPINK Lisa, BTS V, and actor Park Bo Gum met in Cannes on May 22. There, the three top stars attended the international film festival as CELINE's global ambassadors and representatives.

Following the event, local and international media outlets and magazines were quick to share photos of the celebrities. Vogue also featured a picture of Lisa and V together.

This was when BLINKs and Lilies expressed were riled up as the journalist mistook Lisa for Jennie. In the caption, they wrote Jennie Kim beside Kim Taehyung's (V) name.

Some BLINKs initially thought it was just a careless mistake on the journalist's side, Lilies thought otherwise and accused Vogue's journalist of being Jennie's "akgae," or a fan who only loves one member and hates or ignores the others.

Fans immediately looked for the name above the article's photo and found the photographer's Instagram. They became more enraged when they noticed that he even joked about Lisa and V looking good together, and added a ring symbol as if implying that the two could make a good couple.

As a result, photographer German Larkin received hate, and got called out for being "racist" for not being able to tell the difference between Lisa and Jennie. BLINKs and Lilies emphasized how disrespectful it was for both the female idols.

Some also conveyed anger for joking about Lisa and V despite the amount of hate BLACKPINK Jennie gets for dating the BTS member.

Photographer Clarifies Situation + Warns Lilies After Being Cyberbullied

As the malicious comments went on, German Larkin took to his Instagram Story to defend himself.

First, he clarified the misunderstanding, saying he was not the one who wrote the caption and article.

"I DON'T work in VOGUE and I DON'T write captions to photos. This is NOT my job to submit texts or details about my images. You can clearly see I'm not the writer of this article. STOP harassing me!"

In addition, he warned about not sharing any of Lisa's photos again if fans will not stop.

"And y'all better remove your negative comments and APOLOGIZE to me, otherwise, I will never share her images ever again. Period."

As for his caption, Larkin also deleted it without much comment.
