During a Q&A session with Ask Anything Chat, the members disclosed their preferred names. Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, and V all expressed a preference for their stage names.
However, Jimin and Jungkook use their real names as their stage names.
1. Jungkook
BTS Jungkook, the golden maknae, is 23. He revealed that his stage name was almost "Seagull," as a reference to the official bird of the city he was born in: Busan.
However, he decided to use his real name as his stage name and altered the spelling. His full name is Jeon Jeongguk.
2. Jimin
Park Ji-Min, popularly known as Jimin, is one of the main singers, songwriters, and dancers of the band.
He initially thought of using a stage name before his debut, but chose otherwise. He was named by his grandfather. His name means "my wisdom will reach higher than the sky."
3. V
When it came to BTS V, he revealed that he enjoys combining his names. Jin proposed the nickname "Vhyung," while Jimin suggested "Kim V."
V himself came up with "V Taehyung," showcasing his creativity in finding a harmonious blend of his real and stage names.
4. Suga
Suga shared that he no longer feels a distinction between his stage name and his real name. His fellow members often call him Suga or Suga-hyung, but he mentioned that Jungkook has started calling him by his real name, Yoongi.

5. J-Hope

6. RM
The band's group leader, RM, contributed significantly as a writer to BTS' smash hit song, "Butter."
When he was a trainee, he came up with the name "Rap Monster" as a result of a sentence he had written in a song.
Later, when he realized the original didn't fit his music, he renamed it to Rapmon or RM. Kim Namjoon is his true name. The meaning of the name is "the genius from South."
7. Jin
Jin's real name is Kim Seokjin, also knowns as "Worldwide Handsome." He is the eldest member of the group.
