MAMAMOO Hwasa Will Not Renew Contract With RBW?

On June 27, Hwasa drew the attention of K-pop fans, especially MooMoos (MAMAMOO fandom), after an update about the idol's contract was released. 

According to an exclusive report from the Korean media outlet Exports News, Hwasa decided to leave RBW Entertainment after her contract expiration this June, and is now preparing to transfer to a new label.

On May 23, RBW initially responded that Hwasa was still under the company and is coordinating with them for a contract renewal.

"Hwasa's contract period has not yet ended. MAMAMOO is currently conducting a US tour, and we are coordinating whether she will renew the contract."

With this update, it seems like the two parties didn't meet each other's terms and decided to part ways after about nine years.

In June 2021, Hwasa renewed a contract with RBW for only two more years, contrary to Solar and Moonbyul who decided to stay for three years.

Meanwhile, Whee In decided to depart from the company and transferred to THE L1VE to focus on her solo career, while still continuing group promotions.

Fans are focused on what will happen to the quartet after Hwasa left.

MAMAMOO Hwasa To Reportedly Join Hands With Psy's P NATION, Label Releases Statement

On the same day, it was revealed that MAMAMOO Hwasa is preparing to sign an exclusive contract with P NATION, led by K-pop icon Psy. In fact, only the final review was left as a confirmation.

Rumor has it that Psy and P NATION's planning ability to draw out and support their capabilities as solo artists were considered for Hwasa's transfer.

However, on the same day, P NATION clarified through Korean media outlets that:

"Hwasa's contract has not been confirmed and is under discussion."

Attention is directed to what will be the outcome of Psy and Hwasa's synergy if the two stars will indeed end up working under a company together as label founder and artist.

Meanwhile, Hwasa debuted with the group MAMAMOO in June 2014. Since then, she received a lot of love with their representative songs such as "Mr. Ambiguous," "Um Oh Ah Yeh," and "You're the Best."

In 2019, she took her first step as a soloist through the single "TWIT." She has become a female solo artist representing Korea by releasing hit songs such as "Maria" and "Don't."

Currently, Hwasa appears on tvN's entertainment program "Dancing Queens on the Road" and travels around the country with her senior idols Kim Wan Sun, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Hyori, and BoA, making an impressive performance on a legendary stage in each episode.
