On June 27th, Karina took to Bubble to address the situation that sparked social media controversy.

"I found out late that there was an issue with the anime I recommended. I didn't know about any previous issues because the character's name was different."

She clarified that her recommendation had no malicious intent and expressed her desire for the matter to be understood without any misconceptions.

However, the mention of "My Hero Academia" sparked controversy due to a character named Maruta. The character's name is connected to a historical reference that caused significant controversy.

The production team behind the anime issued an apology and made name modifications to address the concerns raised.

In light of the situation, Karina has taken responsibility and vowed to exercise caution in the future to ensure that she can provide aespa's fandom, known as MYs, with accurate and positive information.
