Kwon Eunbi's Photos as Backup Dancer Resurface + Idol's Visuals Re-Examined
In an online community, Kwon Eunbi, soloist and former IZ*ONE leader, drew attention as her pre-debut days as a backup dancer is being re-examined.
In the photos and articles posted about her, fans recalled Kwon Eunbi's days when she was only 17 and was working as a backup dancer for the popular second-gen acts, Girl's Day and Secret.
In her photos, Kwon Eunbi flaunts a refreshing look of a high school girl with cute, chubby baby fat.
Compared to her current image of pursuing a dewy and natural makeup look, Eunbi in the photos has intense smokey makeup, which used to be a huge trend in the 2010s.

But minus the baby fats and the makeup, Kwon Eunbi was praised for her natural and youthful visuals that didn't change even after her debut.
Regarding her career as a backup dancer, the "DOOR" singer opened up about it in 2018 through tvN's "Amazing Saturday," which was led by Girl's Day Hyeri at the time.
Hyeri recalled that she talked a lot with Eunbi about dancing and revealed how she cheered for Kwon when she revealed her dreams of becoming an idol.
What Happened to Kwon Eunbi? Former Backup Dancer Turned Top 4th-Gen Soloist
Despite support from her colleagues, Eunbi's entry into the K-pop scene didn't go as smoothly as expected.
Although she was able to debut in the girl group Ye-A in 2014 under the stage name Kazoo, the group eventually disbanded in 2015 for failing to establish a position in the music scene.
Since then, Kwon Eunbi remained "under the basement," and the only information known among fans was that she was a trainee under Woollim Entertainment.
After about three years, Eunbi surprised fans after she was introduced as a participant in Mnet's "Produce 48." At the age of 23, which was considered "old" among trainees, the idol saw the competition as her last chance to debut in a girl group.
With her beauty, skills, and leadership, Eunbi successfully entered the debuting lineup and was launched as the leader of the girl group, IZ*ONE.
Following their debut in October 2018, Eunbi enjoyed massive popularity with numerous hits "FIESTA," "PANORAMA," "Violeta," "Secret Story of the Swan," and more.
Unfortunately, the group met their end in April 2021, and since then, Eunbi announced the start of her solo career.
From being just a backup dancer, the "Glitch" singer rose as an artist who has her own backup dancing team now, an idol who can fill a concert and fanmeet venue alone.
As a soloist, she is often lauded for being like the "Sunmi" and "Chungha" of the fourth-gen K-pop.
Aside from being an idol, her career also expands and she is also challenging herself as a musical actress.
