Kwon Eun Bi's 'Underwater' Enjoys Reverse Popularity in South Korean Charts

Former IZ*ONE leader-turned-soloist Kwon Eun Bi is showing signs of a reverse-run with her song, "Underwater." The song was initially released on October 12, 2022 as the title track of her third mini-album, "Lethality."

It was introduced as a pop dance song that features a combination of Bale-punk rhythm, Afro beats, and the deep house genre.

The song depicts the intense desire to own a loved one and be with him forever, and it drew attention for its colorful choreography that incorporates the deep seawater.

Then, on June 23, Kwon Eun Bi performed the song on the first day of Korea's largest summer music festival, "Waterbomb Seoul 2023," along with her other songs, "Glitch," "DOOR," "Esper," and more.

Following her performance, the music video for "Underwater" saw a rise in views, surpassing 11M views, eight months after its initial release.

"Underwater" is also backtracking on various music sites, boasting hotter popularity than the summer heat.

As of July 1, the song entered one of the largest South Korean charts, MelOn, ranking at No. 126, and fans are now curious if it will ultimately enter the top 100.

After the performance, Kwon Eun Bi enjoyed an increased popularity. Videos of her performance at the "Waterbomb 2023" also surpassed millions of YouTube views.

Reason Kwon Eun Bi's 'Waterbomb 2023' Performance Went Viral

Kwon Eun Bi participated the "Waterbomb 2023," held at Jamsil Sports Complex Auxiliary Stadium in Seoul.

On the same day, her fancams circulated on various SNS, including YouTube, and she unexpectedly went viral overnight.

During her performance, Kwon Eun Bi showed off her stunning body proportion in a bikini top enconced in see-through long sleeves. She also showcased her impressive live vocals and dance skills while drenched in water.

It was even more jaw-dropping as the scene looks like a scene from a movie where Eunbi flawlessly and coolly dance while the water guns were being aimed at her.

Prior to her viral "Waterbomb 2023" look, Eunbi initially garnered high interest earlier this year for her various stage videos of "Underwater," including its MV as it spread rapidly through the YouTube shorts algorithm, causing hot reverse driving syndrome. 

Following the heat she caused in Seoul, Kwon Eun Bi also confirmed her appearance at "Waterbomb Japan 2023," which will be held in three cities in the country.

She will perform in Osaka on July 15th, Nagoya on the 22nd, and Tokyo on the 30th to show off her explosive energy once again and heat up the the Japanese crowd.
