SEVENTEEN's 'FML' Surpasses 6 Million Sales + Becomes Best-Selling Korean Album of All Time

SEVENTEEN's 'FML' Becomes Best-Selling Korean Album of All Time by Selling 6 Million Copies

SEVENTEEN has added another accomplishment in their career.

On July 5, SEVENTEEN's 10th mini album "FML" reached another milestone by having sold over 6.2 million album copies, according to the group's distributor YG PLUS.

"FML" was released on April 24, which means the group has succeeded on this feat in approximately two months since the album's release. This accomplishment also led the group to become the first K-pop artist to rake six million copies in just one album.

SEVENTEEN has also set the newest record for the best-selling album in K-pop history. Aside from hitting and surpassing the six millionth mark, SEVENTEEN's "FML" also made waves during its time of release in April.

On April 23, PLEDIS Entertainment disclosed that SEVENTEEN has set a new K-pop record for pre-orders with "FML."

According to sources, the album had exceeded 4.64 million stock pre-orders, surpassing their previous record of 2,067,769 attained by their fourth full album "Face the Sun."

Afterwards, on April 24 at 6 p.m. KST, SEVENTEEN achieved the highest first-day sales by selling over 4 million album copies on its day of release.

From April 24 to 30, SEVENTEEN broke the record for the best-selling Korean album in Hanteo charts. According to Hanteo, "FML" has surpassed 4,550,214 sold out album copies, becoming the first-ever K-pop album to achieve the milestone. With this achievement, SEVENTEEN has also made history in terms of first-week sales from a K-pop album.

SEVENTEEN Seungkwan Halts Activities Due to Health Concerns

In other news, PLEDIS Entertainment updated fans regarding Seungkwan's health on Weverse, stating the member would temporarily halt his activities to focus on recovery.

"Hello. This is PLEDIS Entertainment.

We would like to inform you about the future activities of SEVENTEEN member Seungkwan.

Lately, Seungkwan has been feeling unwell and has visited the hospital and with the advice of medical staff, he will be taking his time to rest and recuperate. While Seungkwan is determined to move forward with his scheduled activities, the agency recommended that it would be better if Seungkwan would focus on health recovery.

With this decision, Seungkwan will be unable to participate in upcoming events such as the Tencent Music Entertainment Award (TMEA) 2023, China fan signing event, and SEVENTEEN TOUR "FOLLOW" TO SEOUL.

We would like to send our deepest apologies to fans and kindly ask for everyone's unconditional understanding. We will also do our best in supporting Seungkwan in his recovery so he can return and meet fans again in a good condition.

Thank you."
