Lee Hyori 'Grabbing' BoA's Hair Has K-Netz Unhappy

A story posted in the K-teens' section of an online community forum, featuring Lee Hyori and BoA, became a hot topic. It questioned the former Fin.K.L. member's behavior that made them uncomfortable.

In particular, the post's author brought back the past live broadcast held by the cast of tvN's "Dancing Queens on the Road," such as Kim Wan Sun, Uhm Jung Hwa, BoA, Lee Hyori and MAMAMOO Hwasa.

At the time, the star-studded cast members gathered for tvN's original reality show, "Seoul Check-in," hosted by Fin.K.L Lee Hyori.

While the show went smoothly, it was only recently that certain snippets from the broadcast resurfaced, with viewers showing sour reactions to the host's behavior.

From the show, an internet user brought back the time Lee Hyori grabbed BoA by the hair. While the idol and the other members laughed, BoA hinted she was uncomfortable with it by saying:

"It's the same thing that the seniors I hated in my school did."

Hearing this, Hyori didn't stop, and instead, grabbed her hair once again and pushed her face closer to the camera.

BoA then responded:

"Unnie, you are aware that this is violence, right? You're kind of annoying me today, do you? grabbing my hair and such. Why are you doing this to me?"

Following the post, it immediately attracted over 225.2k views and 1k recommendations. Most of the comments were criticizing Lee Hyori's actions.

On the flip side, some claimed that the girls were just having fun, pointing out they've been friends for a long time.

However, many fans still didn't agree to this and emphasized that being friends doesn't permit anyone to grab someone by the hair, may it be a joke or not.

"Why is she grabbing her hair? No matter how close you are to someone, when I see someone who grabs someone's hair or face, I easily get turned off."

"BoA was a victim of school violence. So stop acting like that. You're doing it to her twice."

In 2014, BoA's mother revealed that the idol was a bullying victim, and she revealed what the bully did to her.

"Her older classmates dragged her into the bathroom and grabbed her hair while demanding, ‘Why are you growing out your hair?'"

This is why Lee Hyori's actions towards the SM Entertainment singer earned people's ire.

Meanwhile, some brought back Hyori's rumored "beef" with other Fin.K.L. members amid this "hair-grabbing" issue.

"If you hear about Lee Hyori's stories within Fin. K.L., she definitely wasn't someone who was considerate, nice and someone who did her best not to hurt others."

In the past, Lee Hyori revealed that she would have catfights with the other members and confessed to feeling like an outcast. They would grab each other's hair and hint at the group's "disharmony."

With this, people continued to question Lee Hyori's image in the entertainment industry.

"Lee Hyori is just an old idol whose life was extended by 20 years thanks to Yoo Jae Suk. Why is everyone praising her like they were hypnotized when she can't even dance or sing? Celebrities are made up of 70% image."
