Former LOONA and Loossemble member Yeojin has opened up about her first solo single album Lv1, saying she wants to show a confident and empowered side of herself that she could not fully express while in a group.

Released on Mar. 10, 2026, Lv1 marks Yeojin's solo debut under her new label, MUMW Entertainment, with which she signed in January 2026. The three-track album includes the title song "Sugar Talk," along with B-sides "BTW" and "My Valentine." The pre-released track "My Valentine," which dropped on February 14 as a Valentine's Day gift for fans, surpassed one million views on YouTube.

In an exclusive interview with allkpop, Yeojin reflected on the shift from group activities to going solo. "Because I was in a group, it felt difficult to show my own unique color," she said. "But now that I'm promoting solo, I want to show everything I've wanted to do and try everything I can do," according to Allkpop.

She also spoke about the meaning behind the album title. According to Yeojin, Lv1 stands for "Level 1," representing a fresh starting point she chose for herself. She described the album as capturing the process of redefining her identity through music and mood, rather than staying within a familiar image, Chosun reported.

Yeojin said the album came together through close collaboration with MUMW's CEO. She revealed that "Sugar Talk," the title track, was a genre she had never tried before. "The CEO suggested, 'How about trying something like this? You've never done this concept before,'" she recalled. "It was a type of song I had never attempted before."

The album's three tracks span different sounds. "BTW" blends cheerful rhythms with bright energy, showing off her vibrant vocal style. "Sugar Talk" is a minimal groove-based pop track built on guitar riffs and a hip-hop rhythm. "My Valentine" is a city-pop track with a retro, romantic feel, featuring flowing synths and a warm groove.

On handling solo pressure, Yeojin was candid. "Compared to being in a group, I now feel the pressure of being able to do more work," she said. "Since I'm receiving the spotlight alone now, even though it's overwhelming, I am trying to work even harder," as per kfriday

Yeojin first entered the K-pop industry in January 2017 as the fourth member revealed in LOONA's pre-debut "Girl of the Month" project. She later became a full member of the 12-member group when LOONA officially debuted in August 2018. Following LOONA's disbandment, she joined Loossemble in 2023 alongside members HyunJin, ViVi, Go Won, and HyeJu.
