Music Critic Kim Young Dae Gives Quick Review of V's Solo Debut: 'Something different from BTS'

Ahead of the release of BTS V's solo album (KTH1), an album review by a pop music critic was revealed, raising expectations.

On July 26, the respectable critic Kim Young Dae gave a lecture on BTS under the theme of "Reviewing BTS" at the 2023 ACC Humanities Course.

Kim revealed that he has already listened to BTS V's solo debut album and caused a hot topic for his honest review about it. Regarding the album, the music critic said:

"I listened to some songs from BTS V's new album two months ago. I've heard it, but I don't think it's okay to tell you in detail because the company will also release its official position."

Nevertheless, Kim Young Dae gave his professional insights about it and said:

"Yes, I think you'll be totally surprised. First of all, I think it can be said that this is a new discovery of a vocalist called V. Of course, there are some familiar sides/aspects of BTS V, but I think you'll be very surprised to see a new side of him that you haven't seen before."

He continued:

"Overall, the music is so good. Also, V has a very charming voice. But for BTS songs, there's a certain way to interpret it. But in this album, He revealed a lot. It's very natural. If you're curious to see V's natural side, please look forward to it."

Lastly, he teased fans that something "surprising" will happen, drawing curiosity:

"There's one very unique reason why this album stands out, but I can't tell you that. You'll be totally surprised. It's not a collaboration!"

When Kim Young Dae's lecture video was released, "KTH1 IS COMING" immediately topped the global real-time trends list, proving the enthusiastic response of global fans for BTS V's upcoming solo album.

In fact, even Jungkook, his co-member, confessed that he also listened to some of V's songs during the Stationhead live broadcast, attesting to its good quality.

"It's really good, I listened to it first."

While all the solo projects of the BTS members are doing well, attention is focused on V's solo album. Expectations for what V's music, which is different from BTS', are hotter than summer heat.

Earlier, it was reported by Sports Chosun that V is speeding up his work with the goal of releasing his solo album in the third quarter of 2023.

Accordingly, the idol has been working on the album steadily since last year.

In response, an official from his agency Big Hit Music under HYBE declined to confirm and instead said:

"We are releasing the schedule of our artists, including V, after confirmation."
