On August 8, SM Entertainment artists Irene and Eunhyuk became a hot topic among K-pop fans in a popular online community after a netter raised a dating speculation.
The rumor started when an OP posted a GIF with the title, "What is happening in this Irene and Eunhyuk GIF?" The animated image has low quality, but looking at it, the two were seen in what seemed to be a music awarding ceremony.

It can be inferred then that Irene was offering Eunhyuk to sit beside her, tapping the table in front of the seat she was offering. The male idol followed her without much opposition. He also guided the female idol to sit on her chair first before him, showing a sweet gesture.
The OP then asked, "Did the two date?" When this GIF spread among the forum, fans and netizens showed mixed reactions to it, but the majority of the comments were criticism towards the original uploader.
A lot of internet users think the dating rumor is absurd, given that the GIF didn't really mean anything and is simply a junior idol showing courtesy to her senior.
Eunhyuk, the main dancer of Super Junior, debuted in 2005 and he is the senior artist of Irene, the leader of Red Velvet who debuted in 2014.
Despite their debut gap, it is not a secret that SM artists have a close relationship with one another.

Meanwhile, after being with SM Entertainment for over 17 years, Super Junior Eunhyuk, along with Kyuhyun and Donghae, officially left the company in July.
Kyuhyun signed with Antenna to which Yoo Jae Suk and Lee Hyori belong.
As for Eunhyuk and Donghae, the duo D&E's future is still undecided.
However, it was initially reported that they will establish their own label, although it is unclear if they will only promote their solo activities through this new company or even their duo plans.
