Kim Sohye Mentions IOI Reunion — Which Members Are Closest To Her After Disbanding?
After transitioning to an acting career, former I.O.I Kim Sohye revealed her desire to work as an idol again and reunite with the "Nation's Pick" group. She also named the members she still keeps in touch with following disbandment.
Kim Sohye Hints At Possible I.O.I Reunion
On August 16, K-pop idol-turned-actress Kim Sohye appeared in KBS 2TV's variety show, "Problem Child in House," along with actor Lee Sang Yeob to promote their upcoming drama, "My Lovely Boxer."
On this day, Kim Sohye, who was active as an idol in the past under the girl group I.O.I in 2016, confessed that she was actually an acting trainee before she joined the first season of Mnet's audition program, "Produce 101."

Despite doubts, Sohye eventually fell in love with performing and due to her continuously improving skills and personality, she finished ranking 5th and joined the debuting lineup of I.O.I.
During their activities, the 11-member group rose as the "Nation's Pick" and became popular for their hits, "PICK ME," "Very Very Very," "DOWNPOUR," "Whatta Man" and more.
Unfortunately, the group disbanded in 2017, leaving regrets to their fandom, which was never even given an official name.
During the broadcast, Sohye said:
"I originally went out as an acting trainee during 'Produce 101 but I miss my (K-pop idol) activities. I also talk a lot with the members."
At that time, Kim Sook recalled the time in which there were reports that mentioned I.O.I's possible reunion.
Hearing this, Kim Sohye made an honest confession.
"We almost reunited, but (the plan) fell down at the end. I talk a lot with the members, and everyone is desperate to get back together. I want to do it, we all want it. In fact, I often miss group activities."
I.O.I finished its idol activities in 2017 and left a promise to fans to reunite as a whole on their fifth debut anniversary.
In 2019, the report of a reunion first arose but it was canceled.
In 2021, the fans didn't get an album comeback but the members fulfilled the wishes of fans by gathering again through a live broadcast to commemorate their special day.
Kim Sohye Reveals She's Still Close With THESE I.O.I Members After Disbandment
As the broadcast went on, Kim Sohye also mentioned her unrelenting relationship with the members even after parting ways as a group.
She revealed members that she particularly keeps in touch with.
"I am (still) close to I.O.I members. Among them, Doyeon, Sejeong, and Yoojung are the closest. I also studied acting with Kim Sejeong.

She added:
"I entered my sister's acting study and we are doing it together. There are other seniors and directors. Jin Sun Kyu and Lee Heejoon will also be with us. We bring some lines and acts, and we share opinions on acting. I am very passionate."
