The fourth-gen may be on the rise nowadays, but the second and third gens are also making their mark, as many K-pop artists from these eras shined with their solo releases.

Here are the 10 best K-pop solo debuts in 2023 so far!

1. TWICE Jihyo with 'Killin Me Good'

 

On August 18, TWICE's loveable and headstrong leader Jihyo made her well-deserved solo debut with mini album "ZONE" and title track "Killin' Me Good." The song showcased Jihyo's hidden sides, flaunting a more confident aura and concept!

2. BTS Jungkook with 'Seven' (feat. Latto)

 

Jungkook's solo debut song 'Seven' (feat. Latto) was released on July 14. As expected of BTS's "Golden Maknae," the debut was way more successful than anyone could've ever expected.

The song dominated mainstream charts, breaking records after records across international and domestic areas, making it one of the best debuts in 2023.

3. Sandara Park with 'FESTIVAL'

 

Sandara Park released her first eponymous digital single and title track "FESTIVAL" on July 12, exciting her fandom DARAlings!

4. Hur Youngji with 'L.O.V.E.'

 

On September 12, KARA member and soloist Hur Youngji officially released her solo debut single album "Toi Toi Toi" and title track "L.O.V.E."

5. BTS Suga with 'Haegeum'

 

Suga made his solo debut on April 7, when he dropped his debut album "D-DAY," which is also his first-ever full-length album. The content was led by the charismatic title track "Haegeum."

6. BTS Jimin with 'Like Crazy'

 

Jimin's "Like Crazy" is part of the idol's debut mini album "FACE," which was released on March 24.

7. BTS V with 'Slow Dancing'

 

V, the fourth BTS member to go solo this 2023, released his debut mini album "Layover" and title track "Slow Dancing," which offered a more subdued and relaxing take. The album was released on September 8.

8. DKZ Jaechan with 'Hello'

 

Jaechan of DKZ made his solo debut on September 6, 2023, first mini album "Jcfactory" and title track "Hello."

On May 17, Mijoo released her debut single album "Movie Star" and its title track of the same name.

10. BLACKPINK Jisoo with 'FLOWER'

 

Jisoo's solo debut was already the talk of the town way back in 2018 when Jennie became the first BLACKPINK member to make go solo. BLINKs, specifically Jisoo stans, endured persistently throughout the years of waiting.

Finally, on March 31, 2023, Jisoo went solo with her first single album "Me" and title track "FLOWER."
