JAM Republic Kirsten Reveals She Discovered K-pop Through THIS Girl Group

One of the current most popular dancers in "Street Woman Fighter 2," Jam Republic Kirsten, revealed the girl group that led her to the K-pop world.

Jam Republic Kirsten Names SNSD As First Girl Group She Fell In Love With

On October 24, the fashion magazine W Korea featured the leaders of the crews from "Street Woman Fighter 2," an Mnet's survival program that seeks Korea's best female street dance crew.

Among them was Kirsten of Jam Republic, who is one of the most popular participants in the show right now, gaining more attention after her choreography for Hwasa's "Chili."

During the interview, Kirsten who often appeared with a rather relaxed image despite the intense competition conveyed her disposition as the crew's leader.

She said:

"When I started my career as a dancer and as a member of the crew, I was always in an environment where I had to compete, fight and win. If I made a mistake, I had to suffer from the guilt of disappointing my team.

So, I don't want to instill that mindset in my Jam Republic team members. I want them to know that even if we don't win, we can keep on moving forward."

In the process of being Kirsten, she is now who is an inspiration to dancers, the 25-year-old leader born in 1998 was once an aspiring dancer who was inspired and earned courage from other artists.

Kirsten actually revealed the first girl group that made her discover K-pop. She revealed that she once fell in love with Girls' Generation through their song, "I Got a Boy" when she was in high school. At the time, she didn't even know that it was a K-pop song.

Following SNSD, Kirsten completely entered the K-pop world after she was able to work and perform alongside 2NE1 CL and BIGBANG.

Kirsten Talks About Jam Republic Members

As the interview continued, Kirsten also talked about the Jam Republic crew and how her experience went.

"I go back and forth between Korea and New Zealand. Since I have a schedule in other countries, I will stay in New Zealand for a few days and then come back to Korea.

What's more surprising than that flight is that some of the dancers from Jam Republic organized ahead of "Street Woman Fighter 2" met for the first time. (such as Audrey, Latrice and Kirsten)"

Kirsten then mentioned her friendship with Ling even prior to the competition, narrating:

"Ling is the sweetest person I know. We danced together for a long time on 'Royal Family."

She also shared her first encounter with Emma, saying

"My family emigrated to New Zealand around the age of six, and I started to dance battles when I was young. At that time, I had a battle with the young Emma's crew."
