Melon Music Awards 2023 Announces Nominees for Upcoming Year-End Ceremony
On November 2, the Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2023 announced this year's nominees, who were placed in the Top 10 awards.
Regarding its qualifications, the ones who are eligible to be included in the nominations are artists who released music from November 4, 2022, to November 1, 2023, giving sufficient time to gather numerous big names from the K-pop industry.
According to Melon Music Awards, the final Top 10 will be decided based on 80 percent download and streaming counts for 2023, and the other 20 percent will be based on votes.

Moreover, the Artist of the Year award will also be counted by votes from the Top 10 awards. The award will also be determined by 60 percent from Melon download and streaming counts, as well as 20 percent from votes and 20 percent from the evaluations of judges.
From November 2 to 16, Melon users with verified accounts are required to vote for the Top 10. The awards show has also collected a total of 30 nominations.

On October 19, Korean news outlets reported that the upcoming Melon Music Awards 2023 was scheduled for December 2, and would take place at the INSPIRE Arena, in Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
The organizers also relayed a brief message for goers. They addressed the lack of seating capacity of INSPIRE Arena, since the venue was still scheduled for opening, and lacked concert infrastructure. However, they assured to bring out the best viewing experience.
"For eager music fans who were not satisfied with the venue's lack of infrastructure, we will provide a quality first viewing in a large arena dedicated to K-pop."

The INSPIRE Arena has a capacity of 15,000 seats and is the first-ever venue exclusively designed for K-pop stages.
For the event's slogan, the Melon Music Awards 2023 will have a theme of "K-pop Changes the World." The concept brings out the message of music's strength joining forces with people, as the two will be the ones to unite the world at the awards show.
For those who aren't able to attend the ceremony in person, the MMA 2023 will also be broadcasted on the Melon app, its website, Wavve, and on Japan's ABEMA TV.
