In an online community, aespa Karina is becoming the center of attention, but for the wrong reason.

In particular, a hate post about Karina gained over 72.3k views and rose to the real-time trending articles on Pann, a popular Korean women's online forum.

In the writings, the author maliciously wrote the title, "What's with Karina's belly fat?" and added the caption, "I'm surprised."

The OP then attached a screenshot from Karina's YouTube short clip where she was performing their song on stage.

In the photo, Karina was seen sitting down and her "belly fat" in question was protruding. When netizens saw it, they left harsh comments, such as:

• "It's disappointing."
• "Was this post posted by a Karina fan? It's like a fake noise viral marketing tactic. No, never mind."

• "Giselle is much fatter than Karina. Tell her to lose weight."

MYs Defend aespa Karina from Netizens Body-Shaming Idol

As the post gained more views, it also reached MYs, the fandom of aespa, and they can't help but feel frustrated about the post.

It wasn't even long before NingNing received ridiculous body-shaming comments for her "armpit fats" and Karina was then targeted for her "belly fat" now.

But MYs immediately jumped to the idol's defense and pointed out that the said belly fat was actually just skin bulging due to the idol's tight-fitting outfit.

Looking at the photo, Karina was wearing a crop top and denim micro-shorts and when she sat down her belly skin was caught in between her clothes.

MYs explained:

• "It's not belly fat, it's because she wore small tight-fitting clothes that the least amount of her fat popped out. If you wear it like that and sit in the same position, you'll have that, too."
• "If you wear something like that and your belly doesn't fold (when you sit like that), then you're not human."
• "In the past, people used to tell girls about their protruding belly but they still do that to date. You guys are disgusting."
• "Mind you, it's a tight-fitting corset for girls. What would you do if it's belly fat or not? They take care of skinny girls and tell them to gain weight, which is treated as a bad comment. But if they did gain a little weight, they called them pigs and told them to go on a diet. The mindset is that they will not tolerate even a bit excess of weight. While these female idols tightened their 'corsets' do consider to lose weight yourself."
