Jo Kwon Transforms as 'Angel,' Celebrities Can't Help But Admire Idol's Beauty

Jo Kwon continues to break stereotypes and boundaries in the K-pop scene with his recent cross-dressing photos!

On November 19, idol-turned-musical actor Jo Kwon, who rose to fame as a 2AM member truly made a buzz after posting the latest photos on Instagram.

In his caption, the idol actor invited fans and netizens to watch his current musical, "Rent: Seasons of Love" and said:

"Hello? I'm Angel. Am I pretty? Then come see me in person."

In the photo released, Jo Kwon posed with a beautiful smile while wearing a short hair wig. He transformed into a beautiful "Human Christmas Tree" by wearing a halter neck dress, knee-length colorful socks and Mary Jane high heels.

In a video, he also turned on the lights decorated in the dress and posed innocently.

In particular, the male idol wore this as one of "Angel's" outfits, a cross-dressing man in the musical rent. In the following photos, Jo Kwon then showcased his cool and hip side by wearing a bomber jacket and beanie.

Upon posting his photos, fans lauded his duality and androgynous image, being able to rock male or female clothing. Jo Kwon also continuously broke the stereotype that only women can wear makeup, dress and high heels.

Jo Kwon Stars as 'Angel' in Musical 'RENT'

Amid a hiatus as an idol, Jo Kwon continued his passion for performing and singing as a musical actor with "RENT," which returned three years after COVID-19.

When asked how he felt about playing Angel Jo answered:

"As Angel, I have high expectations that I can spread love to so many people."

He showed confidence by saying:

"I'm very excited rather than burdened. I was confident. I also raised the heels of high heels (on stage) than those who have been in charge of Angel. I will do my best to jump and go crazy with more beautiful and high heels than any other 'Angel' in the world."

The musical, "RENT" which opened in theatre on November 11th, is a modernization of Puccini's opera La Boheme. It talks about the dreams, love, and hopes of the life of poor artists living in the East Village of New York in the 1990s.

This is the ninth season of the Korean language production. Following the 2020 season, when performances were repeatedly canceled due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the audience will meet again in three years.

The role of Angel, played by Jo Kwon, is a bouncy character in a female-male setting. It is also a role that actor Kim Ho Young has played since 2002.
